PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

Getting Started:

You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.

Classic

PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases (the same releases retail use).

Classic Era caveats:

Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

strsub is the function you're looking for:

short_variable = strsub(variable, 1, 3) would get the first 3 characters in the string located in variable.

You can change the border colors. There's a whole section under the Layout editor, Aura, Borders just to do that. As far as skinning. I'm guessing you're thinking along the lines of button facade. Right now you can't. However, you can alter the graphic of the border we use by changing the border.tga file under PitBull4_Aura.

Is there any configurability for the buff borders or the icon itself on any units? I'm looking to change the color of the border and possibly skin the icons to the same as my buttons/buffs etc.

I really love pitbull. Till today I sticked to P3. I tried P4 but couldnt get it to look even close to my simple P3 layout. Can someone load up a simple layout with portraits enabled?

Again I'd point you to some of the guides I linked earlier, scroll back in the conversation. You can turn on Portraits under Indicators, Portrait in the Layout editor.

fammy2k, You can make a separate group in PB4 for each party in the raid and then use the filtering so it only shows one party. This will give you the behavior you want.

hi, im i doing something wrong or there is no option to organize the raid based on real groups?, the problem im having is for instance if i have 5 players in raid each one in different groups its showing it like they all are in the group 1. Theres no way to show em in their real groups (even in their real position in the group) n leave the empty spaces in groups blank? tyvm in advance n gratz on ur addon, its awesome!!! XD

Hi, great program! I have a question though, and it might have to do with my lack of knowledge about addons. I just recently downloaded PitBull4.0 and noticed there was another addon that was suggested to download to get more fonts and textures "SharedMedia". Well I went ahead and downloaded it aswell as LibSharedMedia, but it is still not giving me the options for more fonts or backgrounds.

I have restared, uninstalled, reinstalled and everything I can think of but can't get this to work. I know this is still in beta so I'm wondering if this is something that is still in the works, or if its just me.

Addon is great w/o the extras but I wouldn't mind being able to get this working. Keep up the good work!

SharedMedia no longer includes fonts by default due to copyright issues. See the INSTRUCTIONS for MyMedia.txt file in the SharedMedia folder for adding your own fonts. As far as backgrounds, PB4 doesn't use them but we do use the textures for the bars. If you have things installed properly you should have a lot of texture options for your bars.

Lowlander you are correct. Shefki finished the LoD code for PB4 so all the modules are split out of the main folder now.

Nah, i didn't do any pirate stuf, i'm no Johnny Depp! :P

Problem is solved now that ive changed aggro color showing on the border of the frames instead of on healthbar ;)

I recently updated pitbull to version 4.0 beta5, i now find myself having small 1 second "hiccups" when i enter combat or when a opponent/mob dies.

I only use pitbull for player frame, target frame and target off target frame.
Grid for raid frames and when i turn off pitbull the problem is gone ;)

Could you please look at this? I love Pitbull4 but this makes playing with it painfull :)

I believe this was caused by the pirate costume stuff we had in for Pirate Day yesterday. Everything should be back to normal. Let me know if this is still happening.
