Getting Started:

You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.

Classic

PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases (the same releases retail use).

Classic Era caveats:

Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Same here, just upgraded from beta4 to beta5 and although the minimap button is showing and all the config seems as it was previously, no PitBull frames are showing, just the Blizzard ones. Any ideas?

Doh, solved it - gmfagundes, did you have WoW already open when you updated? beta5 seems to have changed Pitbull4 from being a single addon to being a few dozen separate ones, as Pitbull3 was. All the new addons will not be picked up until you fully exit and restart WoW (that solved the problem for me)

This addon is a bloody joke compared to pitbull 3, bring back pitbull 3. This is a joke.

I'd point you to some of the guides I linked a couple pages back. We are using a different model than we did with PB3. Once you understand the model it is actually easier to configure. But if you're coming from PB3 it is probably confusing.

What exactly doesn't work. I'm sure we have bugs, but saying half of the addon doesn't work is simply an exageration.

I have no idea what you mean by click configure. If you want to configure click bindings for spell casts use Clique we don't provide that feature and won't. Clique does a great job with this and there's no reason to include it in this addon.

Is it possible to truncate custom lua text strings or am I wasting my time trying to do it? I'm looking for a way to clip character names to 3 letters without ellipses for tiny raid frames.

strsub is the function you're looking for:

short_variable = strsub(variable, 1, 3) would get the first 3 characters in the string located in variable.

You can change the border colors. There's a whole section under the Layout editor, Aura, Borders just to do that. As far as skinning. I'm guessing you're thinking along the lines of button facade. Right now you can't. However, you can alter the graphic of the border we use by changing the border.tga file under PitBull4_Aura.

Is there any configurability for the buff borders or the icon itself on any units? I'm looking to change the color of the border and possibly skin the icons to the same as my buttons/buffs etc.

I really love pitbull. Till today I sticked to P3. I tried P4 but couldnt get it to look even close to my simple P3 layout. Can someone load up a simple layout with portraits enabled?

Again I'd point you to some of the guides I linked earlier, scroll back in the conversation. You can turn on Portraits under Indicators, Portrait in the Layout editor.

fammy2k, You can make a separate group in PB4 for each party in the raid and then use the filtering so it only shows one party. This will give you the behavior you want.
