guide/Party and Raid Frames/PitBull Looking Like X-Perl

Can PitBull 4 look exactly like X-Perl? Not exactly, but we can get close. If you are curious how close, scroll on down to the comparisons.

Making the Player Frame

Here is where you will see some of the largest differences to X-Perl. From what I understand, there is an add on module called PitBull 4 extras that will add the indicators to the layouts that you won't see in this guide, since I used just PitBull 4.

  1. Make a New Layout.
    1. Bars
      1. Set the Texture to Banto Bar
      2. Disable Threat, Cast Experience and Reputation Bars
      3. Make a Blank Space Bar for your Player Name. Set the position to the top. (above Health Bar)
      4. Make a Blank Space Bar for your percentages of Health and Power. (Blank Space Percentages is what I use and will reference) Set position to right.
      5. Uncheck "Color By Class" on the Health Bar. Adjust the Height of the health bar to be double the power and blank space bars.
    2. Indicators
      1. Enable the Portrait, but uncheck "Position as bar"
    3. Texts
      1. Lua:Name
        1. Attach to Blank Space: Player Name (that you made above)
        2. Location set to Middle
        3. Code set to "Name:Class-colored
      2. Lua:Health
        1. Attach to Blank Space: Percentages
        2. Location set to Middle
        3. Code set to Health:Percent
      3. Lua:Health2 (Create this by Typing Lua:Health2 in the box to the right of Lua:Health and press the Okay Button)
        1. Attach to Health Bar
        2. Location set to Middle
        3. Code set to Health:Absolute
      4. Lua:Power
        1. Attach to Power Bar
        2. Location set to Middle
        3. Code set to Power:Absolute
      5. Lua:Power2 (Create this by Typing Lua:Power2 in the box to the right of Lua:Health and press the Okay Button)
        1. Attach to Blank Space Percentages
        2. Location set to Bottom
        3. Code set to Power:Percent
      6. Lua:Class
        1. Disable.
    4. Other
      1. Background; click on color and set the Opacity to 0% (all the way to the bottom of the "-")

Making the Target Frame

Start with your Player Layout you just made in the Current Layout Box, and Type in the name of your Target Frame Layout. Apply your newly named Layout to the Target Frame under the Units Menu. You will need to make the following adjustments to this layout.

  1. Indicators
    1. Change the Portrait position to Outside:Right
  2. Auras
    1. Turn Buffs and Debuffs back on.

Making Target Target Frame

Start with your Target Frame in the Current Layout Box, and type in the name of your Target-Target Frame Layout. Apply this new layout to your Target Target Unit Frame under the Units menu. You will need to make the following adjustments to this layout.

  1. Indicators
    1. Disable the Portrait

Party Frames

Use your player frame layout as your base for your party frames. And make the following changes:

  1. Indicators
    1. Portrait
      1. Change the Portrait to the Style of Class
      2. Change the Portrait Location to Outside, Left-top
      3. Adjust the size of the Portrait to about 75%
  2. Text
    1. If you have experience writing Lua, you could create a LuaText for the Unit Level and attach it to Outside, Left-bottom.

Party Pets and Party Targets

These use the same layout as the Raid frames below. Just remember to apply the same layout to these two groups. In the case of Party Targets, you will need to make the Party Targets group if you have not already.

Making Raid Frames

  1. Make the Raid frame Layout
    1. Bars
      1. Set Texture to Banto Bar
      2. Disable the Power, Reputation, Threat, and Experience Bars
      3. Add a Blank Space Bar (I called mine Raidname) And attach it to the Center "side" to make it appear above the health bar.
      4. Disable Color by Class from the Health Bar
    2. Texts
      1. Disable Lua:Class, Lua:PVPTimer
      2. Lua:Name should be attached to Blank Space: Raidname, Location of Middle, Code of Name:Class-colored
      3. Lua:Health should be attached to Health Bar, Location if Middle, Code of Health:Percent
    3. Aura
      1. Uncheck Buffs and Debuffs
  2. Make the Raid Group(s)
    1. Set Each Unit Group to "Raid" and give them the Layout you made above.
    2. Using Filtering you can make a group for each party, or alternatively one large raid group.

Raidframes:

Party Frames: My scale on a few of these as well as placement is a bit off, but had limited time before raid to get the screen shot. These are probably the most different looking of the sets of frames using just PitBull 4
