Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Step 1 - Delete the existing Pitbull folder in "_anniversary_\Interface\AddOns"
Step 2 - Download the mop classic version, copy it into "_anniversary_\Interface\AddOns" and then rename PitBull4_Cata.toc inside the pitbull folder to PitBull4.toc

Posted Jan 14, 2026I currently use this addon for my unit frames (character, targets, and target of targets) for WoW Classic Anniversary. It's currently broke on the WoW TBCC Anniversary edition. I just get my portrait in the default frame, and I can't get a target portrait frame period. I guess the versions are off, as the latest version is from 2023, and is Ver 2.5.4 and the version the game runs on is 2.5.5. I guess it just needs a simple update, but I'm no programmer. Hopefully it'll be back, because I've used this addon for over a decade now, and I couldn't see going with anything else.

Found it. Just add "Outline()" in the first line of the lua code of the layout text.

Posted Oct 21, 2025Is showing Shadow Orbs not supported in classic? I've tried disabling the Hide Class Power Bar module but nothing shows up. Only when the default blizzard player frame is shown do I have any indication for Shadow Orbs

Posted Oct 11, 2025Hello, I recently had to reset a bunch of settings from my addons because things like the yellow text that shows up when you collect something for a quest stopped showing up.
Anyways. It also seems to have completely reset my Text on my Pitbull frames.
I'm like 90% I've been using DogTag texts but when I go to load the module it gives me an error
"Pitbull4: Could not load module 'DogTagTexts': Out of date
The thing is though I don't remember having to install anything separate for this but I did try these things.
Reinstalling Pitbull, Installing LibDogTag 3.0
Neither seem to work.
