PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

Getting Started:

You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.

Classic

PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases (the same releases retail use).

Classic Era caveats:

Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

for some odd reason my unit frames keep hiding every time i do arena, but thats the only issue i have been having ever since 4.06

Please confirm which beta version of PB4 you are using.

Have you tested it without other add ons loaded? If not please list other addons you are also using.

It will take a bit for us to test this (work schedules) but we shall! Thank you for the report.

v4.0.0-beta20 was the one i was using... i kept updating and losing in arena because we were enter and im like omg i see my buddy, but then i can see the unit frame slipping into nowhere. like its hiding from me. i checked blizz raid frames to see if theres a issue nope, same settings as before.

i didn't change anything from pre 4.06 to post 4.06.

also maybe its not recognizing where i am in arena.... when i enter it?

Thank you for the reply. That will help us narrow down the issue. I know Blizzard did make changes to how zoning is handled, as we were finding the raid manager popping itself back into the screen on zoning which we fixed last night.

We will look into it as soon as we can, but it will take us a bit.... the chief fixer of issues is still currently at work.

This is not a PitBull4 problem but an intended change on the part of Blizzard. Blizzard uses the party frames now when in arena despite technically being in a raid (as you are in all the PVP areas).

You can control this via the Blizzard Interface option "Used Raid-Style Party Frames" under the Unit Frames settings.

Fixed in latest alpha. Blizzard made a change that started reshowing it on zone changing.

For some reason the addon will not show raid frames. This was never an issue but for some reason it is now. Is this a known issue? And also, any idea when an update can be expected? Thank you!

I was just in a raid group and it was working fine for me. Are you looking for the Blizzard raid frames or ones you built with PB4?

When we can get all the little fixes done. The menus have already been fixed as noted below. (which required updating a library this add on is built on)

If you are incredibly impatient you could update to the alpha that just was posted 24 minutes ago.

I have this problem also. Started with 4.0.6 today. Using Beta 19-9-g244c6b8

EDIT: The latest alpha (beta 19-10) also has this problem. I click to hide the raid frames, they justcome back after every wipe.

Sorry to hear about the RL problems. I am certainly not angry or anything close to that. It just sucks how things break with lua. Gonna check out the ace update though.

Love the addon, but with their being bugs now with the config window I'm gonna sadly have to find something else. I dealt with the group config being broke but I'm not seeing any updates happening. Will keep a eye on any changes.

Unfortunately the primary maintainer had a significant number of issues irl on his plate to deal with. The config menus are still functional, its just that tabs are appearing stacked instead of various sizes. IT appears to be an Ace 3 issue.

Its not really Lua that is breaking... its that Blizzard builds a framework that let's us do things using lua. Lua itself is just a language. However when they change that framework... things that worked before, or that behaved a certain way before are no longer available.

its like the Knights that say Ni sketch. When they are still calling themselves that, all they want is a shrubbery... and if you fetch them one they let you pass. That works until they become the Knights that say Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing Zow Zing!

Logged on with the new patch. I'm getting a Pitbull error printed into my game chat. Here it is:

PitBull4_Aura: Unknown spell ID: 5138

No LUA error popping up, just text in the chat.

Not sure if this is a known bug but I have hide Blizzard raid frames checked but every time I switch zones in a raid the little side scroll thing pops up until I unhceck and recheck the pitbull option. I have 4.0.0 beta19, not sure which build specifically
