PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Hi, I love Pitbull4, but recently I realized it has been the reason why my FPS in raids is near 0 (FPS is very smooth using default Blizz frames). In Pitbulls defense, my CPU is very old (Celeron D). I've been experimenting with unloading modules to see how it would affect performance.
Testing was done in AV. At first I thought it might be DogTags, but switching it with LuaText didn't do much. Instead I tried unloading pretty much everything except the basics (LuaText, Health, Power, XP + Rep bars) and some things I thought wouldn't be the source of the issue (Background, Border, Leader, Master Looter) and I got playable performance. Adding on Cast Bar and Cast Bar Latency just destroys performance even when my Raid units don't have those bars enabled.
Ideally I'd like to get some additional modules loaded for raids (Auras, Cast Bar, VisualHeals, Highlights) but these seem like they'd be the most CPU intensive - is that correct? Is there an easy way to benchmark these modules? Is there anything else I (or someone else in my situation) could be doing to attenuate these issues? Thanks!
I cant seem to get my mana bar 2 make the correct mana. it like copies my hp bar. plz help
So far so good! The configuration is completely different, which will take some getting used to. However, I cannot figure out how to make is so the Player Frame does not have a Cast Bar, but the Target Frame does. Possible with this build? I was able to do that before 3.0 but I can't now. :(
Landplant, hold down shift while moving them.
Is there a way to turn off the sticky bars? That is when they get close to each they go to each other, I'm pretty sure there is, but I cannot recall where I saw this option.
"PB4 doesn't have the issues with players entering the group in combat or leaving. I spent a fair amount of time insuring that this isn't the case. So I really don't appreciate that you posted here complaining about an issue that isn't even an issue anymore. Believe me I found the problems with players leaving and joining group in combat exceedingly annoying."
I was illustrating why I had wanted to try pitbull4 in the first place, and that longstanding bug had already imposed a bad taste in my mouth regarding the pitbull name.
"We're aware that the defaults are not really good right now. We really do need to make some more layouts. However inheritance is not in the picture. It's a pretty difficulty thing to handle from a configuration standpoint. We could provide checkboxes on every setting to say if it's being inherited from the parent, but that would utterly cluttered. Dropdowns could have another option, Toggle options could be tri-state, but what about sliders, and text boxes. "
Well, without inheritance I don't see the feasibility of configuration unless you already know exactly what you want before you start assigning layouts to groups. The mod is already very cluttered as far as having too many sliders and checkboxes and sub-windows of subcategories, I don't see how adding one for inheritance would make the clutter any worse, and it would really aid in ease of use. Maybe it could be an optional module at the very least, perhaps disabled by default.
Unfortunately my WTF folder was cleaned out when I made the switch over to STUF.
Regardless of my opinion on PB, I am glad to hear that the mod is still progressing nicely and wish you the best of luck. If there was one best set of frames for everybody, there'd be no point in developing more!
- any chance there will be a tutorial on how to do it? e.g configuring 10, 25 man raids and whatnot.
- How about having templates for people who dont knwo hwo to configure.
just suggestions....amzing addon, keep up the good work =]
mh...I used Pitbull 4 for a while now, used it in Alpha long ago. I can't say it has bad bugs. I completed Ulduar with it, many hard modes too and for me, a lot of other unit frame addons just miss features this addon provides. Especially as a healer there are many things I would not want to miss. (The health text configuration as an example, or the way I can configure ducursable debuffs). I really LOVE Pitbull 4 and even if there are yet things to come, for me these are all just pluses.
