Getting Started:

You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.

Classic

PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in v4.3.x-vanilla releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x releases (the same releases retail use).

Classic Era caveats:

Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Hello PB4 Team,
Great addon, loved PB3 and I love PB4 even more. I was ecstatic that among all of my addons, PB4 sustained the recent patching process the best, so I salute you. Kudos for all your hardwork! I patiently await a separate holy power unit frame...

Furthermore, I have a question. Since patch 4.0.1 hit, my party's target unit and the party's pet's units all show the party members themselves, as if the party member was targeting...themselves. The "pet" unit simply shows the party member. In addition, even if a party member doesn't have a pet or a target, the unit shows up displaying the party member to which it belongs. Any particular reason why this is? Thanks.

@ukingsken, You asked to remove the status stuff and so I was thinking ohh Status(), I went back and ready your question more carefully, you wanted to remove AFK or DND, which is on the Name test not the Health text. If you want to get rid of that you can just make your name text: return Name(unit)

This may be a dumb question, but since the new updates and the patch, when i click on the ground or somewhere else on the screen, my Target Unit frame stays there. Now when i click on a character, and then click somewhere else on my screen, it stays there. This may sound dumb but it bothers me for some reason lol. so is there a way to clear that instead of hitting escape?

Escape, Interface, Controls, Uncheck Sticky Targeting.

PitBull4 does not have anything to do with your targeting, we just display what you have targeted. Blizzard code is responsible for setting/clearing your target, even when you click on a unit frame.

If you mean moving them individually. We're limited by what the GroupHeaders provided by Blizzard allows us to do. It doesn't provide a way to do this.

I know this suggestion may or may not go. However adding a nudge ability per displayable bars. Because sometimes bars just need that extra little nudge to look right =). However currently PB only allows for frames to be changes in whole. For example the party frame. Give us all the same options there and a nudge per party panel. So party member #1-#5 can be nudged individually.

What about unhooking the frames? And only have them hooked together in certain events such as party, raid, etc. I do know Blizzard allows for showing individual frames like this. However linking them all together for given events might be a bit harder than just saying it.

That way party #1-#5 are part of the party frame. However the frames in truth would be individual from one another and just linked by condition. condition in this example being Party.

You can still use DogTags if you want.

You can just reverse the Class(unit) and SmartRace(unit) calls in the LuaText. Something like this:
Class(unit),form,SmartRace(unit) or ''
becomes
SmartRace(unit) or '',Class(unit),form

Hey, I love the addon. I got it up and running just (well, almost) the way I like it. One thing is bothering me. Right now, next to my Health, it says I am a "Priest Human". I am not a "Priest Human", I am a Human Priest. Probable really nitpicky, but I just would like to change this, but it seems the only way to do it is with Lua and I don't know anything about Lua. Any help is appreciated. :)

just spent another 2 hours on trying to get pb4 to do what pb3 has done forever. i am giving up on pb this is less user friendly then its previous version. thanks for all the hard worl and time you spent on pb3. it vastly improved my game play.

Why not post what you're having trouble with. You'll note we are fairly active in responding to questions. I'd bet you're just not understanding how to configure it. The guide would probably help you as well.

I figured since I was still having trouble this was the best way to go. I've posted a screenshot of my config window and frames here. You can see that I have the layout for target selected, and that he LUA:Health text is selected in the drop down. Below in the code window I've removed the status code and accepted it (also logged in and out multiple times since then).

At the bottom below the config window you can see my frames, the second one in from the left being target, and still showing this away message. I'm at a loss as to what I've done wrong since I'm sure you know how your addon works. Hopefully with this extra info you can help me. I know it's not a huge deal just irks me lol.

As always I appreciate the help.

Edit: I think I've found the script doing it. Under LUA:Name I see the following script and when I edit it the away message goes away but so does the targets name. How can I edit the following LUA to only show the name without changing anything else?

return '|cff%02x%02x%02x%s|r %s%s%s',r,g,b,Name(unit),Angle(AFK(unit) or DND(unit))

If it doesn't show up then you may have some other addon hiding it.

I love pitbull and was using pitbull 3 until I stopped playing a while ago and now i'm back and the problem that kept me from moving to pitbull 4 back then is still bugging me, I can't find any way to get my default cast bar back, is it at all possible or have I just not found it?

The best way I know to achieve what you are looking for is through profiles. Make one profile set for raids/parties and another for soloing. You will need to swap profiles when you go to party raid, but it would achieve what you are looking for.

PS - There are multiple PB4 guides available. If you dont' like mine, I really won't be offended if you look at others. I wrote it as a baseline guide to get people a starting point from there they can try all KINDS of things. And for it being pretty basic... there are at least 5 people a day that need really basic help.
