ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

For some reason i forgot about that when looking at my bank that day..
Thanks for the reply tho!
Hi, where are the 3.09.00 Alpha versions
I don't find them
I installed arkinventory by twitch with my classic profile, the addon won't load.
in twitch make sure you select the classic path
right click on arkinventory
release type
alpha
they should show up after that
make sure you have load outdated addons enabled in classic (it doesnt like the 80200 toc version that retail uses)
In reply to Arkayenro:
OK I dont get it, it works now after trying to install it again...
This seems to work just fine for Classic and I'm pleased. However the instructions are a bit vague (but I'll figure it out eventually) and I just wanted to know how to block out any sorting outside of my quivers. When I click the stack button, the addon keeps trying to put non-arrows into my quiver. That kind of instruction doesn't appear to be anywhere. Please advise.

My mistake, I confused Restack with Refresh.
I do apologize, first and foremost, for my lack of helpful information. As it stands, I am not at the PC with WoW Retail/WoW Classic installed, so I will be unable to provide specific and detailed feedback.
As it stands right now, the current version of AI does not work. It fills my screen with LUA errors that are referred to in this thread. I have tried with every addon turned off, with the exception of AI, and it still does not work. It works perfect fine in the retail version of WoW, but not classic
This bag addon is by far my most favorite, so if at all possible, could you please look into these issues and see if you can fix the problem(s) and push an update as soon as possible? I, as well as many others, would greatly appreciate it!
go back to the r845-alpha if youre having issues with the latest one
In reply to Arkayenro:
Stupid question, but where are the alpha files? I only see 3.08 files.
In reply to Rishda:
In you don't want to use the twitch client like me, you have to go in the "files" section and clic on "View all" on the middle page (next to "recent files"). You will be able to see the alpha/beta releases.
In reply to TheZeldrak:
Are you using the Alpha version?
Even with every other addon disabled AI isn't working at all in classic.
Using the Beta version I get English (US) translations failed to load. Even with everything unloaded except Arkinventory it still gives me the same error message.
Thanks
which exact version are you using (is it the latest one) and in which game client?
Lots of ERROR>Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:5632:CreateFrame(). Couldn’t find inherited node “ARKINV_TemplateButtonItem”
and similar errors. I can get the window to pull up but it doesn’t populate, I can’t edit it and the bottom bar by currency just says “Loading...”
Getting tons of errors in Classic
In reply to rheostatik:
Same.
Thank you - I will try it out :-)
Curious question - I am wondering if there is a way to save different bag setups for different alts. To explain - my Hunter and Warlock need a bag for Ammo/Shards respectively. I have named a 'Bar' as 'Ammo/Shards' and used the 'assigned category' Bag 5. However I do not need this option on my other characters, so instead of constantly "unassigning" the category every-time I log onto my Mage, Pally, etc, I was hoping I could have different profiles or something similar. Any advice please?
In reply to vailaan:
You should create different layouts (for example, mage_bag, warlock_bag) and assing it to different profiles.
