ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

scrolling does work, but before scrolling it is more than happy to go outside the screen.
Since a few days items don't even show up anymore even tough they are there when arkinventory is disabled and I didn't change anything.
disable everything else, just leave ai, does it still happen?
How do I re-size my bag and bank windows? It's driving me crazy. I read in past comments that it was due to a Blizzard bug, but can't find the option to disable you provided below:
"open the ai config menu, on the system page (near the bottom) is an option to enable a code workaround for the framelevel bug - turn it on."
thats a different issue.
resizing the window is in the config under scale and/or height. just make sure youre changing the right layout (it should be the one you have set in the profile) or nothing will happen.
Gonna take a moment to say that you're a hero, and if I were forced to pick only one Addon to use, it would be this one, because I can't play WoW without it.
At the moment, I'm experiencing a problem in which when I first enter the world on a character, the bag doesn't sort all its items into the correct categories. A lot of them(but not all of them) are in the Miscellaneous section.
If I hit Reload, everything will sort and we'll be fine, though sometimes I have to hit Reload twice to get it to get everything in the right place.
Any ideas? Do I have a setting wrong, or is this a bug?
Thanks again for all your hard work!
Something's not right. Today I had the whole frame stuck in top left corner of screen, kind of a mix between ELVUI skin and the normal blizzard skin. I reinstalled it a few times, eventually got it back to normal. But then I noticed the item icons weren't matching the tooltip hover, and the sorting kept jumping about. I even had items in the bag that weren't discovered by typing in the search bar.
I think it was interference from ELVUI. I discovered even if the Bags > Enable checkbox on the ELVUI panel was unchecked, there was still an active checkbox under Bag Sorting. I unchecked that box, and ArkInventory functions fine.
I have this same problem but i dont have ELVUI.
Same here, I was able to fix it by reloading UI sometimes, but now it seems to be stuck, bags completely unusable.
EDIT: I do not use ElvUI
I'm having this exact same problem. Sometimes reload works, sometimes it doesn't. I think it may have something to do with skinning mods like ElvUI and the one I'm using, Aurora.
Since the recent update my ArkInventory is bugging! Some Items are shown wrong (artifact power tokens are still in the slot after they are used, the tooltip disappear but the icon is still shown) I cant move items to different slots. Also the connection between Items and Icons seems to be messed up.
Edit: I turned off the Rules and Search function in Addons and now it works perfectly. You might want to look into it.
Check my post above about ELV-UI bag settings, if you use it. Seems it's interfering with ArkInventory unless carefully configured.
A Script Run too Long while I was killing a WQ boss
I know these might be related to computer issues or another addon referenced but it might be interesting here since Arkinventory is also referenced.

in the config under workarounds, lower the amount of items displayed before yielding value
Is there a way to make the bag expand upwards rather than downwards and left rather than right without the use of other addons? (anchor it bottom right) My current solution is the MoveAnything addon.
have you tried setting the window anchor to bottom right?
where/how?
never mind, I found it.
