ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
config > controls > bag > anchor point
Sadly this addon feels like a very early alpha version of somebody's idea rather than an actual, usable addon. :(
This is probably one of my favorite addons. I've been using it for years. Yes, there are quite a few bugs since legion, but I'm sure they will be worked out.
Would someone mind assisting in how to configure scaling and/or the number of "bags" in each row? My bank bag is so tall it doesn't all fit on my screen. I can't get scaling to work, I can't get the number of bags in a row to update, I can't get the number of items in each row to change, I can't get the width to change... none of the things I've tried have done anything to adjust the sizing.
Please help!
Thanks
check what profile you are using
then check what layout that profile is set to use for the bag and bank
thats the layouts that you need to change the values in
I've just noticed that when I go to the bank that it takes seemingly forever to open up the window. The whole game freezes up for at least 10 seconds. I don't recall that it ever took this long in the past to open up a bank window. I'm wondering if my inventory need to be "re-indexed" or somesuch thing, if there is one.
Well, I'm relieved to know that it isn't ArkInventory causing this intolerable delay. It's actually over 25 seconds. I disabled all other addons and AI opened in about 3 or 4 seconds which is quite normal considering all the groups and rules I've got set up.
Now I just need to figure out which addon is causing the problem and just get rid of it.
Unload ArkInventory Rules.
I have some great Rules, but the load time is mad, so i Unchecked that, and it is lightning fast now/
This need to be fixed, or i need to rethink my rules or maybe even this addon
I found the culprit to the VERY LONG SLOW opening of the bank. It's an addon called OpenAllBags. As soon as I got rid of that, the super long delay went away.
Having problems finding where to scale this addon since I have all 30 slot bags and now it takes up entire right side and cant see all.
Thanks,
My *bank* UI appears to be showing some soulbound items onto the default bar while I do have a rule with a higher priority on another bar. Do you know what might be causing it? I have fiddled with the the Controls options and it didn't fix it and I've double checked that the rule of those items is higher priority and I have even reset the default bar.
The only thing that might hint to something is that if I use priority "1" on those items it does work, but I don't want to use priority one.
OK apparently it's because if I have an UNUSED Rule that may be more all-encompassing it may dump items into the default bar that could be otherwise caught by a more specialized rule if the generalized rule was deleted. Is there a way to change that behavior? As in, if a rule is more generalized but it is not used at all on a bar, to be completely ignored?
i've given up on tbag. it was recommended by a friend back in bc but it's currently causing my load times (into raids, dungeons, etc) to be so long as to sometimes cause me to time out of wow.
arkinventory was recommended as a replacement. i'm trying it out.
it keeps me in the game which is nice. however, i can't wrap my mind around how to set up sorting. i've followed the "how to setup sorting" links above, but it's pretty rudimentary.
is there somewhere where people share their profiles that i can just import?
Broken as of release 3.07.07
Bag does not update properly, certain items (underlight angler) are not recognized properly. Occasionally entire bag glitches on opening and displays no inventory.
I'm getting this also and wondering if arkinventory is what's giving me the "your addons are throwing too many errors" issue on startup
disable everything except ai and try again.
I am having an issue when I restack. It shows up like this, ALL my other characters do not have this issue, but with my Demon hunter it is.. I also cannot sort anything and I cannot figure it out. Please help! I would love to use this forever but It just won't work. :\

hi
i got this error
3.07.07: opening bags in combat bugs it out, only half of the groups show up -- rolling back to previous version
Offline views of other characters manages to save the contents of my backpacks, but not my other inventory bags. Search results are also missing items which I know are in non-backpack bags on alts. Bank tracking seems fine.
