ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I think it was interference from ELVUI. I discovered even if the Bags > Enable checkbox on the ELVUI panel was unchecked, there was still an active checkbox under Bag Sorting. I unchecked that box, and ArkInventory functions fine.
I have this same problem but i dont have ELVUI.
Same here, I was able to fix it by reloading UI sometimes, but now it seems to be stuck, bags completely unusable.
EDIT: I do not use ElvUI
I'm having this exact same problem. Sometimes reload works, sometimes it doesn't. I think it may have something to do with skinning mods like ElvUI and the one I'm using, Aurora.
Since the recent update my ArkInventory is bugging! Some Items are shown wrong (artifact power tokens are still in the slot after they are used, the tooltip disappear but the icon is still shown) I cant move items to different slots. Also the connection between Items and Icons seems to be messed up.
Edit: I turned off the Rules and Search function in Addons and now it works perfectly. You might want to look into it.
Check my post above about ELV-UI bag settings, if you use it. Seems it's interfering with ArkInventory unless carefully configured.
A Script Run too Long while I was killing a WQ boss
I know these might be related to computer issues or another addon referenced but it might be interesting here since Arkinventory is also referenced.

in the config under workarounds, lower the amount of items displayed before yielding value
Is there a way to make the bag expand upwards rather than downwards and left rather than right without the use of other addons? (anchor it bottom right) My current solution is the MoveAnything addon.
have you tried setting the window anchor to bottom right?
where/how?
never mind, I found it.
config > controls > bag > anchor point
Sadly this addon feels like a very early alpha version of somebody's idea rather than an actual, usable addon. :(
This is probably one of my favorite addons. I've been using it for years. Yes, there are quite a few bugs since legion, but I'm sure they will be worked out.
Would someone mind assisting in how to configure scaling and/or the number of "bags" in each row? My bank bag is so tall it doesn't all fit on my screen. I can't get scaling to work, I can't get the number of bags in a row to update, I can't get the number of items in each row to change, I can't get the width to change... none of the things I've tried have done anything to adjust the sizing.
Please help!
Thanks
check what profile you are using
then check what layout that profile is set to use for the bag and bank
thats the layouts that you need to change the values in
I've just noticed that when I go to the bank that it takes seemingly forever to open up the window. The whole game freezes up for at least 10 seconds. I don't recall that it ever took this long in the past to open up a bank window. I'm wondering if my inventory need to be "re-indexed" or somesuch thing, if there is one.
Well, I'm relieved to know that it isn't ArkInventory causing this intolerable delay. It's actually over 25 seconds. I disabled all other addons and AI opened in about 3 or 4 seconds which is quite normal considering all the groups and rules I've got set up.
Now I just need to figure out which addon is causing the problem and just get rid of it.
