Posted Oct 20, 2026Quick update! 😁
To make testing and bug tracking for PitBull4 Retail (Midnight) and Forever more organized, I've been setting up a dedicated Discord server.
Both versions already have a lot of working functionality, but there's still plenty to fix — especially with the remaining Forever bug reports.
Instead of spreading reports and feedback across CurseForge comments, I'd like to bring testing and discussions together in one place.
I'll start inviting a few testers soon and gradually open it up to more people.
Thanks for all the feedback and support so far!

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Rumorix soe issues with the pets frame, it doesn't display the pet name and doesn;t hide the default blizzard one, thanks for the updates. Example: https://imgur.com/a/AQqZ5bD
3x PitBull4_LuaTexts:CustomPets:Lua:Name caused an error:
bad argument #5 to 'SetFormattedText' (string expected, got nil)
[PitBull4/Modules/LuaTexts/LuaTexts.lua]:1331: in function <...erface/AddOns/PitBull4/Modules/LuaTexts/LuaTexts.lua:1323>

Posted Oct 19, 2026Another Problem i encountered (fresh profile) - the Health bar color is no gradient anymore - when i lose 1 health - it is immediately yellow, and at 49.9% it´s red.
Also, btw is there a discord where one could report these kind of issues - would be easier to keep track of/test faster :D

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Rumorix I fixed this, and the transparency problem locally. Additionally i refactored the font dropdown and the bar texture dropdown so it behaves like it does in other versions of the addon (as a preview) on basis of the version 57.
Want that code?

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Rumorix Hi, my reply got lost among the messages. The issue (missing text on the bars) is indeed present in the ruRU localization. When I changed the settings to enUS, the text started appearing.

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Evenero @Evenero Thanks for confirming! Could you run these two commands in your ruRU client and share the output? They’ll show your installed PitBull version and font settings, which will help narrow down the cause.
/dump GetLocale(), C_AddOns.GetAddOnMetadata("PitBull4","Version")
/run print("Blizzard:",ChatFontNormal:GetFont()); for f in PitBull4:IterateFramesForUnitID("player") do print("PitBull:",f:GetFont()); break end

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Evenero @Evenero Thanks! That confirms P008, and the font settings look normal. Could you run these two commands separately, outside combat, and share the output? They check whether LuaTexts is enabled and whether the actual text fields contain anything.
/run local m=PitBull4:GetModule("LuaTexts",true);print("LuaTexts:",m and m:IsEnabled());for f in PitBull4:IterateFramesForUnitID("player")do print("Layout:",f.layout,"Texts:",f.LuaTexts and next(f.LuaTexts)~=nil);break end
/run for f in PitBull4:IterateFramesForUnitID("player")do for n,t in pairs(f.LuaTexts or{})do local s=t:GetText();print(n,t:IsVisible(),issecretvalue(s) and "secret" or s==nil and "nil" or s=="" and "empty" or "set",t:GetFont())end break end

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Evenero Thanks, that narrows it down! There are no LuaTexts fields attached to your player frame. I reproduced a matching startup failure when AceHook-3.0 is missing. Could you run this check and share the result?
```lua
/run local m=PitBull4:GetModule("LuaTexts",true);print("Module:",m~=nil,"Enabled:",m and m:IsEnabled(),"AceHook:",LibStub("AceHook-3.0",true)~=nil,"Aggro:",PitBull4:GetModule("Aggro",true)~=nil)
```
Please also share the first PitBull-related startup error from BugSack, if available.

Posted Oct 19, 2026@Rumorix Please excuse me for wasting your time.
The reason was that Ace3 was disabled.
I don’t recall why I disabled it.
When it is disabled:
[16:38:16] Module: false Enabled: nil AceHook: true Aggro: false
When I enabled it:
[16:39:49] Module: true Enabled: true AceHook: true Aggro: true

Posted Oct 18, 2026I found a small bug that (i think) works differently in earlier versions, i like to make my health bar slightly transparent.
On the Health bar the "Empty" portion of the bar is always in the background - which is okay if both are opacity: 100%
If i reduce the opacity of "Full" i still don´t see the game through the bar - because the "empty" bar is still there 100% opaque.

Posted Oct 18, 2026@dude0220 Hey!
Thanks for reporting this! :)
I've addressed the Health Bar transparency issue in **Forever v56** (also included in v57).
Reducing the "Full" opacity now allows the game world to show through the bar when "Empty" is still set to 100%.
One limitation: the empty portion will also become transparent in this configuration.
Could you give the latest version a try and let me know if it works as expected?
Thanks again!
