SharedMediaAdditionalFonts

Table of Contents

Inserts more than 40 additional fonts into LibSharedMedia's storage.

LibSharedMedia is used in an estimated ~1,250+ addons and downloaded over 100 million times.

LibSharedMedia is used as a library in other addons to add resources such as fonts, sounds, images, … By installing SharedMediaAdditionalFonts, you add fonts to the list of fonts provided by LibSharedMedia to these addons. If your other addons do not use LibSharedMedia, this addon (SharedMediaAdditionalFonts) doesn't do anything.

It's up to the AddOns themselves to support SharedMedia. If they don't add support, the fonts will not show. This can't be fixed by this AddOn.

Hello. I use "Lib: SharedMedia-3.0" and I get following error with your addon enabled:

Message: Error loading Interface\AddOns\SharedMediaAdditionalFonts\Libs\LibStub\LibStub.lua Time: Tue Oct 27 07:51:13 2020 Count: 3

This folder doesn't even exist. I have "Lib: LibStub" installed, but even when it's enabled, error is still there.

Just to be sure I tested following scenarios:

1. Lib: SharedMedia-3.0 enabled

2. Lib: SharedMedia-3.0 and Lib: LibStub enabled

3. Lib: SharedMedia-3.0 and WeakAuras enabled

4. Lib: SharedMedia-3.0, Lib: LibStub enabled and WeakAuras enabled

Im getting errors too, which is a shame as although its an old addon, I used it primarily to import new fonts I found into the game and without this, Ill lose all those fonts. Anyone able to update the addon or is there a way of swapping all the fonts in this font folder to the game some other way?

Alright so the current version of the AddOn does NOT support MyAdditionalFonts.lua by default, which means to things:

You have a modified version of the SharedMediaAdditionalFonts.toc file that lists the MyAdditionalFonts.lua file, and

The format of your MyAdditionalFonts.lua file is incorrect.

While 1) is correct, 2) needs to be fixed. You should give a look at the ShareMediaAdditionalFonts.lua file and make sure that your MyAdditionalFonts.lua is similar.

Here is what your file should look like:

if not SharedMediaAdditionalFonts then return end

SharedMediaAdditionalFonts:Register("font", "Readable Font Name", [[Interface\Addons\SharedMediaAdditionalFonts\fonts\YourFont.ttf]])

-----

The parts in bold need to be changed. The last line can be copied for each font that you want to add.

My font list is significantly smaller with the new patch. All of the "vibro" fonts are missing among many more. I used Vibrocen for everything. Do I need to add it somehow or are we waiting for more updates?

The Vibrocen fonts are not provided by this addon, but I can think about adding them after some testing. Do you know which addon is providing the Vibrocen fonts?

Also, are you talking about this font? https://www.dafont.com/vibrocentric.font

The only other addon I can think is SharedMedia. I thought it was from the additional fonts. Its been a long time since I have loaded the addon.

The Vibrocentric is pretty close but appears to be a derivative of the other or visa versa.

The vibrocentric looks really good though.

That would be surprising. SharedMedia has been updated for 8.0.1 and does not include Vibrocen. If you have a link to the Vibrocen font you are using, I'll happily include it after testing and only if the licence allows it.

I am not currently using vibrocen, or so I thought.

Well as it turns out my fonts are still where they used to be in the sharedmedia_mymedia folder and the additional fonts folder. It seems they are not being picked up by the shared media addon. I will have to wait for it to get updated or rather fixed.

Oh so I know where it's coming from. The latest version of the AddOn API generates an ERROR when the AddOn tries to load a file that does not exist.

In previous versions of the AddOn, you could include a MyAdditionalFonts.lua file where you could list additional fonts you wanted to use. Unfortunately, with API 8.0.1, the only way to fix the loading error is to include an empty MyAdditionalFonts.lua file in the AddOn, but that would override the one that you have.

I'm not sure how to fix this problem. Maybe by adding the fonts that are requested by users to the addon directly?

I installed the add-on via curse. How do I access the add-on in the game so that I can change the fonts? I'm able to see the add-on when I go to the add-on tab in game.
