PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

I would love to have some some vertical & horizontal adjusters for the text objects once they are in there spots :
Very nice unitframe addon! btw i wonder when will this addon be beta version? Alpha is somewhat difficult to use to me.
Border options? Will there be any?
So far Pitbull 4 is much easier to configure and it's usable as is(Unless you raid, no raid frames, "yet"). Back in early August, before quitting World of Warcraft for Warhammer, I redid my UI and it took me almost two weeks to get Pitbull set up exactly how I wanted it. I recently started playing WoW again as of two days ago and I set up my unit frames exactly the way I had them before in less than 3 hours! Talk about an improvement! Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to a completed version of Pitbull 4.0.
bossmansmith, when it's done. It'll be a lot more complex (though probably less complicated) than PitBull 3.0, since I want to provide a lot more control, so I'm still fleshing out ideas.
any word on when raid frames will be implemented. not really totally usable until you can set up raid frames - that it will be such an improvement over pitbull 3.0
Do _not_ report bugs or feature requests in these comments. Use the ticket system. Also, make sure you're not duplicating an existing ticket.
Amazing!! I love the changes from PB3. Much easier to configure. Can't wait for raid frames
Couple of things.. my rune icons on my DK are not moveable - I like my player icon in the lower/centre part of my UI, the Rune CD icons seem stuck at the blizzard UI location.
Still some stuff missing:
Make an option for FrameStrata, PitBull obscures Blizzard's DK rune bar, maybe put PB one level down?
Be able to remove non-mana/energy bar at Target (NPCs for example.)
Make padding/spacing smaller between portrait and the rest.
Portrait still suffers from that some NPCs are shown fullbody. Add a customizable list so one can edit which NPCs need a fullBody setting in order to show correctly.
Colors! I miss the ability to change the color of the mana bar.
You can do settings for individual frames. You just have to make a layout for that frame and apply it to the frame. Go into layout editor. Next to the drop down there is a text edit box. Type a name for a new layout and click the button that appears next to edit box to make the layout. Set the settings in your layout that you want for whatever frame.
Now go down to the Units section. On the frame you want select the layout you just made.
The point of this is you can have as many frames sharing a config as you want or as few.
There are a lot of things that aren't implemented yet. It's still not even a beta. Raid Frames, Visual Heal, Filtering of Auras, etc etc etc...
PB4 is not meant to provide less configurability (once it's feature-complete), you can make separate individual settings for every single unit still if you so chose. (But chances are that you can reuse at least some of the units layouts with the modifiers.)
I would like to see visual heal put into this also. I would also like to be able to turn off certain things for different frames. Like auras for example. I only like them to show up on the party, party pets and target frames. Not on anything else. If i turn them off for me it turns them off for every frame. I use elkano buff bars so I don't need to see my buffs on my frame. It would be nice if you can place the portrait as a bar on the frame also like how it is in Pitbull 3. Unless I just haven't figured out oh to attach it that way. I do like the config window a lot. It's very nice!
Also, I was having a problem when in a party where the party pet frames weren't showing up. I had them enabled but they never showed up.
I didn't see an option for raid frames or raid pets frames. In Malygos I use the raid pets frames to be able to heal when everyone is on the drakes.
I'll check back for more changes to this but I think I'm going to stick with Pitbull 3 for now since it has a lot of small options I like still.
Trying ag or xperl till further notice.
Besides this, great addon. It's just that im a portrait person.
In PB3 it showed the effect of incomming heals (that is how much it would increase your healthpool), I can't seem to activate this in PB4, is it implemented yet?
Love the new configuration-window!
YES! Auras! My DeathKnight is very excited about this...
BlackPandemic, Modules will eventually be split like PB3. That setup is superior in that it allows unused modules to not be loaded at all.

There isn't a difference in look (except what's not yet completed, like auras), the difference is under the hood, and in the configuration/options. The idea is to be able to do everything pb3 did, except easier to configure, and use less resources.
