The Addon HidingBar supersedes MBB on all aspects and is continually updated.

MBB reduces minimap buttons and makes them accessible through a pop out menu. Click the MBB button to expand the menu and display the buttons. Each button that is collapsed into the menu can be reattached to the minimap with Ctrl + Right Click. The MBB button can also be detached from minimap with Ctrl + Right Click.

Hot Key

Ctrl + Right Click - detach / reattach a minimap button

Slash Commands

/mbb - shows the MBB commands
/mbb buttons - shows a list of all rfames in the MBB bar
/mbb reset position - resets the position of the MBB button
/mbb reset all - resets the MBB settings

Bug fix:

Moving icons in and out of MBB is buggy and some icons do not stay in or out. Until there is a fix, I manually set it by opening the saved variable file and exclude icons.

1. Get the names of any minimap icons that will not go in MBB. To help, move the mouse over an icon and type/paste this in chat.

/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("The mouse is over icon, " ..GetMouseFocus():GetName())

2. Logout of wow so we can modify the saved variable file properly.

3. Open the saved variable file,

\WTF\Account\...\...\...\SavedVariables\MBB.lua

4. Modify and add the names of icons to exclude. Use the names found in step 1. The comment on each line is a consequtive sequence, but optional. A sample is shown below.

5. Save the saved variable file and enter the game. Verify the icons are moved as expected.

Bug fix:

The MBB button should not be on top of bags and windows. It is currently set on HIGH instead of MEDIUM. See code in MBB.xml, and change HIGH to MEDIUM, where the line shows ...

Hmmm, I think its time I abandoned this project. I took it on to get it working in WotLK. However I have no in-depth understanding of the code, and the specifics people are mentioning I am unable to reproduce.

So if someone else wants to take it on be my guest. Just leave a message here.

Same problem as SmuvMoney reported with v0.63. But if I try to downgrade to v0.61, I get the same problem reported from others before: every 3 seconds the game totally frezze for 1-2 seconds. If I switch on desktop and look for CPU-Usage, every 3 seconds WoW.exe raise the CPU-Usage to 60%. In addition I can`t add minimap icons to mmb. Seems downgrade isn`t an option at the moment :-( The only way for me, is to remove mmb from my addons.

Hi McManiac,
today I downgraded to 0.60.
It works fine till now, and I don't have any short-term lags anymore.
If you'll give it a try: delete or rename your current \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MBB folder.

I am having an issue with v0.63 that was not present in v0.61. For some reason, several plugins are now going into MBB even if I have those plugins set to not create minimap icons. This happened with several Fubar and LDB/Broker plugin. Even if I reset the plugin by toggling the minimap icon, the minimap icon would not go away when it was disabled. This was regardless of whether or not the icon was in the MMB "bag" or not. When I downgraded to v0.61, all those plugins were able to remove their icons from MMB and/or the minimap when I turned it off.

Pls post the actual error message if you are using newer version v0.63 the line numbers at least would be different so I would assume that whilst it might be a similar stack overflow message the location will be different.

The button is overlaying on top of my bags, this is a problem at the auction house or when I bank. Not a major issue but an annoyance. Also it doesn't play nice with poisoner. (I.E. Can't detach button and button behaviour is buggy)

I've got a problem when trying to run this addon with GuildMap v3. MBB takes up about 18-20 MB of memory when running these addons together. Dunno which of the addons are causing the trouble or why they conflict. Hope someone can clarify

Sorry for the delay in responding to this Pericles, I've been away for a few weeks. By hitch I mean like a brief screen freeze. Maybe hiccups would be a better term? It freezes for a second, then continues on, but it does it every 3 seconds. It happens if I move, I can't say I've tried it standing still. If I turn my camera though, it will do this. I'll be checking this frequently so if there's any other information you need to know, I can get right back to you.

Seem to have an issue with MBB and GuildAds, for some reason when i first log in GuildAds will not be put in MBB, then if I open MBB my GuildAds button will disappear. Any clue on a fix? Thank you.

the release of a new version of pitbull required updating some libs in Cartographer.. which, leads to stack overflow for MBB

luv the addon. tried the others when this didn't work for awhile, but i came back.
Could you look at the strata for the button. It's on top of the bags.
also, I thought you had a post on the forum. I can't find it now.

Hmm most interesting I use all three too. Can you describe the nature of the "hitch" ie: what do you mean exactly by that term. I am guessing some sort of periodic screen freeze? Is this right? Does it happen if you sit doing nothing or only when you move the mouse around?

More explanation needed please.

logged off last night all was fine, logged in today and I have errors in MBB and started doing the same hitch/freeze every 2 or 3 seconds like Anilee said. I have no clue what happened overnight!

edit on above comment: It looks like I'm getting the same error string as jdhas is getting, I can't figure how to cut/paste it to you though :P same line, stack overflow and a bajillion ohide with the same line #'s he shows. hope that helps.

Oh, and the bag itself exploded and my minimap's covered with buttons again'! argh

lol edit 2: So I disabled MBB and the hitching pauses stopped and as well, this realy odd lag I'd been having in opening my mailbox was totally gone. wow
