Elkano's BuffBars

Table of Contents

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

The fix is to change FuBarPlugin-2.0 to FuBarPlugin-2.1 on line 41 of ElkBuffBars.lua because the FuBarPlugin now registers itself with AceLibrary using a newer major version.

Working fine until today, soon as I installed new beta I see default blizzard buff frames and these errors:

seems like it only wont show with the newer versions , the old r135 will show itself if i type /ebb, the r143 and r144 wont

This addon wont load if i type /ebb config nothing happens.

Any clue why this coud be happening? its drivin me nuts that i cant get it to show.

For a while now I've been seeing internal error messages from EBB like this one:

Elkano's BuffBars: [EBB] ERROR: 1 - Champion of the Kirin Tor - -10130.171000 / 0.000000

This seems to happen with nearly every possible buff/debuff and does so frequently. I've already deleted the svar twice.

this output is mainly for debug if something went wrong. But I think with seeing the negative number here (which should have been impossible), I have found the bug causing it. I used a call to max(a, b) which worked for me but it seems like some other addon was defining it. The correct call ist math.max(a, b). So hopefully the latests beta won't throw that message anymore.

Is it possible to adjust the strata of the bars? At a certain point in raids or where I have a lot of buffs/debuffs, the bars overlap my quest tracker from QuestHelper. Right now, the bars appear underneath the tracker, and this just makes everything unreadable.

Great addon. I've tried asking for this on the Wowace forums a long time ago, but I'm afraid it got lost in the pages.

Anyway: Is there any chance you can make an option for making spell-icons "zoomed"?

Another long time user here, but wanted to note a buff that isn't showing up for me currently.

Freezing Fog (Death Knight buff) isn't showing up. I'm using a separate bar grouping near my player frame, and this seems to be the only buff that I'm not able to find in the white list, and doesn't show up at all in my buff list.

As you can see, I gained the buff several times during a Sartharion fight, but the buff just won't show up.

If there are instructions on how to add this or if the buff can be rolled into an update, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

I've used EBB for a looong time and love it. I haven't really tried to customize too much until lately and I'm having a problem I can't figure out.

I created a new bar and added Buffs and Tracking to it. I white listed my tracking types and Aspects and they display great. I also white listed some buffs like Lock and Load and Master Tactician but they aren't showing up. I also black listed those buffs in my main buff bar and they don't display as I want but they still won't show up in my new bar. Thank you for any input.

So is there anyway I could just get all buffs to show before I have experienced them? Quite irritating if there is a new buff (for example debuff from boss) and I can't see it because I haven't experienced it and enabled it from the options. At least for me I can't see any buffs before I have seen them AND gone to options--> white list and clicked them. And yes I have "do not filter" on.

and yeah if this can't be fixed from options ain't there ready file where are listed all the possible buffs in game? would be thankful for this information

I changed the width to 20 so it's showing just the icons (kind of like the screenshot "minimalistic setup" above. I was wondering if there was a way to make it grow left/right and/or after x buffs make a new row. Perhaps there is an addon out there that already can do this, but I just haven't found it yet.

Still it's a great addon, I just prefer icons. If only I had more space I'd be perfectly fine with the bars!

Did you only change the width to match the height or did you also disable the statusbar and texts?

And wrt horizontal alignment, that's not possible with the current version though it's in the drafts for the next recode.
