Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of (mainly) statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants placed on their weapons.

For over 20 years, EBB has been a mainstay for both long-term and returning players (at least some) and reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.

Two-in-One Download

For Classic WoW, the addon uses its older 2.x code base, for Mainline WoW (Retail and Forever) it is now based on Blizzard's AuraContainer; all in the same download file.

2.x based on UnitAura

Version 2.x was a total recode, initially based on the Ace2 framework, later ported to Ace3, which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It has served well for ~19 years (since June '07) and made it possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. EBB v2 thus limits cancelling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. ~~This will be coming in a later version.~~

3.x based on AuraContainer

This is once again a complete artisanal rewrite, which became necessary due to Blizzard making auras secret in combat. This also gave me the push to include some features I already wanted but never included before. And you can cancel buffs in combat again.

Layouts can now be shared between groups, support multi-line/-column alignments, and give you way more options than before. But it can also just look the same as it used to.

What did suffer from the change of underlying technology are some of the filter options, as Blizzard has intentionally broken those.

And I haven't added localization to v3, yet. So most texts are in English besides a few strings reused from the game client.

Settings

The settings can be accessed via chat (/ebb), LDB icon, or simply via the game settings.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install e.g. SharedMedia which is available for download under https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/sharedmedia

Yes, thats right! It's from a compilation. I did update it manualy again from this page but maybe I have to set EBB up fresh and new (cleaning Interface and WTF EBB Files).

I will try this now!

Allright, I've set EBB new up but now it become even worst.
The white list is almost empty, it only shows my current buffs like my mount and the 1kw buff, as soon as I use a skill it, suddenly pops up in the white list but everything is gone again when I relogg =/

That's working as intended.
As I said it will only store auras seen during the current session as possible white/blacklist objects.
If you select one it should stay over the relog though.

Is there way to get more accure times eg. now it shows just 2s insted of 1.6s I'd like to see milliseconds also on some buffs / debuffs.

Just solved it. your tip gave me an idea, and it worked. Typed /ebb and it popped up a bunch of macros. The one that fixed it for me was /ebb standby. :D Thanks again!

Tried the /ebb config, it brought up a menu, bu it was all about my groups, which unfortunately i don't have b/c of the first ordeal. :(

Im having the same problem as angelnl.

I accidentaly checked "Disable" and now I cant see the minimap button.

Ive tried everything, is there a way to make the minimap button appear again?

I messed up like Nemezote and Angelnl did, but if you type in /ebb config it will bring up the menu for it.

I was lookin through the settings after installin this add-on, and i accidentally hit Disable and now i can't access it at all. I lost the bars itself and the little icon around my mini-map. I've tried disabling/enabling, deleting/re-downloading/installing and it still doesn't show. Any ideas??

I still have Blizz's default buffs with this mod. I've tried deleting the Blizz interface folders and still no luck.
Checked all other mods but still not sure if it is a different mod interfering.

Check EBB's options. If "Hide Blizzard's buffs" is checked, then some other addon is showing them again after EBB hid them.

You'll have to set it like that by hand.

- turn off the status bar
- set the topleft text to time
- turn off topright text
- shrink the width a bit

My buff and debuff and weaponsbuffs groups will no longer "stick" together. I have tried everything i can think of but for some reason when i put the weapons or debuffs under the buffs the buffs will no longer stick to it and just run down through my debuffs. Any help would be great.

Is there anyway you could add a "show when not active" and a timer, ala PowerAuras?

I want to track the Eclipse cooldown through EBB, so the ability to see how long (30 seconds) the Eclipse buff has been down would make that possible.

i like your addon alot but im having one problem. when ever i put a seal up it shows in the middle of my screen with 30 minutes left on it how do i fix that

I'd start with activating config mode for all your bargroups and check in which it shows up, maybe it isn't even shown by EBB.
By default, you only have three groups, one for buffs on your char, one for debuffs on your char and one for buffs on your weapons. Maybe you created an additional group?

Did you mean "a 2 column listing"?
You could place the groups for buffs and debuffs next to eachother.
The groups themselves currently don't support a multi-column display but you could split them into multiple groups and filter them based on time.
