ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Wrath)
The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it instead of the full variant and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full variant. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from here.
Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
Alpha / Beta Versions: Ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup so before installing any alpha/beta version please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variable file
Your saved variable file is normally located in ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose your configuration or it gets screwed up because of an alpha/beta version, it is always a possibility so you need to be prepared.
A simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

If you are having an issue then the first step is to disable all other mods and just test ArkInventory by itself
If the issue is still there then please check for an existing issue and lodge a new ticket if required.
If the issue is gone then re-enable your other mods one by one until the issue comes back, then report that to me as well as the other mods author
When posting a comment about an error please do not include the list of addons or really long traces, just the actual error message is fine. If I need more I'll ask you for it.
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use
See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Just got the update, I don't see where to open the keyring? Is there a button I'm missing?
you can set a keybinding or use the glasses/goggles (locations) icon and select it from there
In reply to Arkayenro:
Is there a way to transfer my profile / saved variables from ArkInvClassic to ArkInv? ArkInvClassic is bugging out, so I swapped it over but now I have to redo all my rules.
In reply to Arkayenro:
I see the keyring under locations, and I can open it, but it only shows 4 slots and I can't move any keys to it. Am I missing something?
(retail) I had some rules that used tsmgroup. TSM (their client) and other addons (twitch update) should all be up to date. Now arkinventory has quit working and I see errors like
...ArkinventoryRules.lua:219: ... Addons\TradeskillMaster\LibTSM\Util\SmartMap.lua:79 No value for key ([Raptor Head])
Is this an Ark issue or TSM issue? And if it is TSM, what can I say so they don't dismiss it as an Ark issue?
TIA
In reply to pppmhagu:
I have the same issue.
TradeSkillMaster distributed an update today (2019-12-11).
There where two ways for me to get ArkInventory working again:
1. When I revert to the old version of TradeSkillMaster
2. Disable all the ArkInventory rules (I have a profile just for this, so I only needed to swap)
This makes me conclude:
1. ArkInventory did not distribute an update and TradeSkillMaster did, so it must be a change in how TradeSkillMaster handles its actions.
2. All rules (depending on TradeSkillMaster) should be disabled and tested/recreated (for the new version) one by one.
IN SHORT CHOOSE ONE OPTION:
1. Disable all rules and enable one by one to see what rules make ArkInventory hang. Recreate those rules that cause problems.
2. Go back to an old version of TradeSkillMaster (and somehow prevent an automatic update).
3. Disable TradeSkillMaster.
In reply to mikaroth:
IDK if it is item dependent or not. I went to a toon with empty bags and opened ark and all the rules were there. I opened my anniversary gift and now get the 219/79 errors for celebration firework. The "Rule #36 is damaged..." message is in chat. So I will see the Rule #36 is "tsmgroup("Professions->Cooking->Crafts->Cooked MoP") " . It seems to me that tsmgroup is not working for me and thus any rule with tsmgroup in it will fail.
will be fixed in the next release. they changed the TSM API
In reply to Arkayenro:
Thank you!!
Ok, I'm totally confused. I got an 'Arkinventory for Classic' and now have just regular 'Arkinventory' in Arkinventory, it says I have to have 3.09.00 to use it in classic. Apparently I didn't get 'Arkinventory for Classic' from this website and now there are bugs galore with the wow battlegrounds update. Do I get rid of 'Arkinventory for Classic' and use this because apparently it can be used in both versions?
Please advise :)
==UPDATE:
Ok, I deleted 'ArkInventory for Classic' and used this version and apparently now I don't have any errors. Sadly, tho, all my rules and sortings, etc. are gone ... sad day indeed :) Great addon tho!
in the savedvariables folder there would be an ArkInventoryClassic.lua file.
rename that to ArkInventory.lua
edit it and change (in the first line) ARKINVDBCLASSIC to ARKINVDB and save it.
that should let you use what you had, or you could copy your retail config over into classic
Hi,
How can I have my items show as sorted within the bag -I have used this for years -thanks- but I just want like stacks and stones etc etc to all be grouped together after I assign them.
Thanks Wow Classic
you can set the default sort method, as well as setting one on each bar if needed

In reply to Arkayenro:
Thanks!
Anyone still experiencing issues with random items going into wrong slots even if category is ranked higher?
my minerals and herbs are going into my default bag, along with my food, but Patterns is going into the Reagent tab.
current version 3.09.05.
In reply to Asmodeus_Cruentus:
Yes, happening for me as well. Items are going into wrong slots on the latest version.
In reply to Asmodeus_Cruentus:
Yeah.. for me too. All my pets and pet stones are been categorized as " Consumable > others".
On version ArkInventory-3.09.05-nolib.zip on Retail, I get numerous errors in various LUAs:
ArkInventory\ArkInventoryConst.lua:18: Cannot find a library instance of "LibPeriodicTable-3.1".
--
ArkInventory\ArkInventoryClient.lua:108: attempt to call field 'ClientCheck' (a nil value)
ArkInventory\ArkInventoryClient.lua:108: in function `?'
ArkInventory\Locale\game-Game.lua:254: in main chunk
--
ArkInventory\ArkInventory-30905.lua:28: attempt to index field 'Const' (a nil value)
ArkInventory\ArkInventory-30905.lua:28: in main chunk
etc
uninstall and re-install, sounds like youre missing a file
In reply to Forge_User_73395583:
This started happening to me today right after I went to my guild bank for the first time in I don't know how long. It was working fine just minutes before.
Turned off all addons
I removed the addon
I removed the settings
I reinstalled the add-on, and it still happens.
I found that the "Externals" folder doesn't exist in the _retail_ version, so I copied it from the _classic_ version. No good.
