ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

I am actually not even using a bag mod right now. In my opinion the ability to assign bags for trash and crafting supplies and gear is better than no sorting.. I do miss my highly sorted ARK and for sure miss my various gear spec sorting.. but it is what it is.. I hope they give it a complete update soon.
In reply to SysterSynn:
Another update was done this afternoon. Installed it and zero issue! Thanx Arkenyo, have used your app since you posted it and I have never seen a more helpful mod since the beginning of the game. Syster, you're definitely not the norm when it comes to enjoying the original bags...
In reply to SysterSynn:
The patch isn't a workaround, it's the actual code that Arkayenro will likely post when he's back from vacation. It is literally the fix for the issues caused by 8.1.5 and the code you put in now will be almost identical to the official code that is released a few days from now.
Again, it's not a workaround. It's a fix.

I had mine working after applying the 2 files from Koviko but then after updating from Twitch this morning, I was getting the LUA 65 error. So what I had to do,,, I had to go into Twitch and delete my Arkinventory. Then install it and then once again apply the 2 files from Koviko. I am working once again.

If you're trying to use Koviko's fix and it still doesn't work you may have extracted the zip directly to the Addons>ArkInventory folder. This will simply create a new folder in that location with the files "trapped" inside it. You need to let the files out for them to function.
Extract the zip to another location first (eg your desktop) then open the extracted folder (it will have a gobbledeegook name) and copy the two files (ArkInventory.lua and ArkInventory.xml) into the Addons>ArkInventory folder.
Still not working for me on r818-alpha. Whenever I open my bags I just get the black background for the bag and the word Loading.....

In reply to iainmcwhirter:
r818-alpha on its own is not a fix. Twitch is feeding you lies by making it seem like it's going to fix your issues. It's still for 8.1.0, not 8.1.5.
Go here to find fixes until the addon can be officially updated:
https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/1149
Thanx for being patient and working us through this Koviko!! Worked for me too!!!! Godsend lmao
The fixes made by Koviko worked for me - thank you so much!
Just to give some troubleshooting to some others who say it isn't working, make sure that you are updating the correct interface folder. I must have a dirty game folder or something, but the interface folder in the main Wow folder is the wrong one. Grab the addons from the _retail_ folder. Maybe I'm just crazy and this was a coincidence, but I thought I would share what happened to me.
In reply to Laynie:
That's what I was doing, using Koviko's zip file and unzipping it into my WoW>_retail_>Interface>Addons and I still have the same errors. Tried switching between both r818-alpha, r818-alpha-nolib just encase the nolib one worked for me and not others, neither do.
Edit: nvm, I'm a dummy, It wasn't replacing ArkInventory itself, but made a new "addon" named r818-alpha which had the ArkInventory stuff inside it so it wasn't loading it from there.
Turned off all other add-ons. Arkinventory still doesn't work. Loads of updates this week so I assume whatever Blizz did, it is affecting Arkinventory.
In reply to Brandamoor:
The addon won't be officially updated for a while, but I put up an unofficial fix for now. I've consolidated both full-addon downloads and small patches to this GitHub issue:
https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/1149
In reply to Koviko:
Cool. Thanks.
Although I already switched to Bagnon for now.
I will probably switch back when there is an official.
I don't feel like redoing (editing) my bags every single time.
It just becomes a pita and I end up doing that more than actually playing.
Bagnon has a lot of other features, but doesn't have the cool specific editing that I like in Ark.
I will check back often for the permanent fix.
Getting an error on load
Message: ...\ArkInventory\Externals\Ace3\AceHook\AceHook-3.0.lua:180: Attempting to rehook already active hook SetAuctionSellItem.
This is with all other addons turned off.
a couple of errors on trying to open bags.

Message: Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:11136: Interface\FrameXML\ItemButtonTemplate.lua:65: attempt to index local 'icon' (a nil value)
In reply to warknyte:
I just got those same exactly errors. This is after doing what fix Koviko suggested.
I am going to delete the entire file from my pc and reinstall it fresh to see what happens.
In reply to warknyte:
Are you guys sure you're actually replacing the files in ArkInventory? Those errors sounds like no changes were made, at all. The AceHook errors mean that ArkInventory.lua was not changed and the ItemButtonTemplate errors means that ArkInventory.xml was not changed.
In reply to Koviko:
In reply to warknyte:
Goo to hear you got it working! ^_^
Hi,can you please update Arkinventory?
Best Regards
