ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:memo: If you are having an issue the first step is to disable all other mods and test with only ArkInventory loaded
:memo: If the issue is still there, please check for an existing issue and create a new issue if required.
:memo: If the issue is gone, re-enable your other mods one by one until the issue comes back, then note the last mod you enabled in your issue as well as notifying the author of the other mod
See ChangeHistory.md for changes to the latest version. See VersionHistory.md for all previous changes.
:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to Arkayenro:
Doesn't work. No error messages in chat. Ru locale.
In reply to Unplayed:
Mine works just fine so far. Will report any errors as they pop up, but so far so good. Thank you so much for updating. This is also my favorite addon. I've spent years personalizing my bags and I was dying with another addon because I almost destroyed/sold extremely important items at least 20 times.
Unplayed: Try installing something like Swatter!. It will post any addon errors as they crop up that don't trigger a chat warning and will do so in a manner that allows you to copy/paste the error so you can send it to the developers and they can isolate what line of code is causing the issue.
In reply to Unplayed:
Check off option 'Install Libraries Seperately'
In reply to Unplayed:
i changed mine to RU language and didnt get any obvious errors so it doesnt look like a translation issue
could you try updating again? make sure the game is not running when you update
In reply to zaiats_2k:
Thanks for info!
In reply to zaiats_2k:
Wow!.. This recipe fixes addon. Now it works perfectly!
Well all thank you for your time and effort!!
Check ArkInventory's GitHub for an unofficial fix while we await an update on Curse.

In reply to Koviko:
Are you taking the project over good sir?
In reply to zanisdawn:
The project isn't abandoned. The author will be updating it in a few days.
I'm just being a good citizen in the meantime. ^_^
In reply to Koviko:
Thank you so much for updating us on this addon. I can barely play without it. It's one of the best addons in the game. :)
Are you going to update this mod? Applying workarounds is one thing, but actually updating it to work right from the install would be ideal. I have used this mod for years and would to have to go to something less useful.
In reply to SysterSynn:
Same... used Ark for years... tried a few things and still had errors. Bad enough that even if I get it to somehow temp work, I would have to redo all my editing.
I opted for the higher used Bagnon. It's ok... simple and has other features which titan panel usually handles, but I didn't find the cool option that made Ark so cool... editing down to the exact category. So I don't love Bagnon, but until Ark gets fixed to run right from the gate, it will have to do.
In reply to Brandamoor:
I am actually not even using a bag mod right now. In my opinion the ability to assign bags for trash and crafting supplies and gear is better than no sorting.. I do miss my highly sorted ARK and for sure miss my various gear spec sorting.. but it is what it is.. I hope they give it a complete update soon.
In reply to SysterSynn:
Another update was done this afternoon. Installed it and zero issue! Thanx Arkenyo, have used your app since you posted it and I have never seen a more helpful mod since the beginning of the game. Syster, you're definitely not the norm when it comes to enjoying the original bags...
In reply to SysterSynn:
The patch isn't a workaround, it's the actual code that Arkayenro will likely post when he's back from vacation. It is literally the fix for the issues caused by 8.1.5 and the code you put in now will be almost identical to the official code that is released a few days from now.
Again, it's not a workaround. It's a fix.

I had mine working after applying the 2 files from Koviko but then after updating from Twitch this morning, I was getting the LUA 65 error. So what I had to do,,, I had to go into Twitch and delete my Arkinventory. Then install it and then once again apply the 2 files from Koviko. I am working once again.

If you're trying to use Koviko's fix and it still doesn't work you may have extracted the zip directly to the Addons>ArkInventory folder. This will simply create a new folder in that location with the files "trapped" inside it. You need to let the files out for them to function.
Extract the zip to another location first (eg your desktop) then open the extracted folder (it will have a gobbledeegook name) and copy the two files (ArkInventory.lua and ArkInventory.xml) into the Addons>ArkInventory folder.
Still not working for me on r818-alpha. Whenever I open my bags I just get the black background for the bag and the word Loading.....
