ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
For example:

the window increases in height, the width is fixed. i would suggest increasing the width as a start, bump it from 14 to 18 and see if its still too large.
you could always set the bars per row to one and see if thats usable, otherwise you might have to rearrange your categories to give the really big ones a row by themselves (ie put a large category on the first bar in a row and dont assign anything to the other bars)
Ah, yes. That's what I search. But if I change the Settings "Bank/Width" nothing happens. If I change "Bags/Width" both are affected.
that would be because you have the bank setup to the the "bags" settings. you can change it back to the "bank" settings but that will most likely need to be setup to match what you have under "bags"
Ah, yes... that's because I used the same rules in bank and bags... I will configure it seperate in the future.
Thank you very much :)
I setup a bar called "Soulbound" which matches to the catagory of '0403.Soulbound', however 'Draenic Seeds', 'Primal Spirit', 'Draenic Stone', 'Findle's Loot-A-Rang' and others continue to be in the Bar1/Default group which only matches '0401.Default'.
Do they fall under a different type of Soulbound? The 20 other Soulbound items I have are matching correctly I can't figure out why these few other items are not.
go into edit mode, click on the item and check the debug properties. that will tell you what category an item has been assigned, which should tell you why its on that bar instead of hte one you want it on
Hopefully, the image below shows you the info you need. It shows how Bag2 is set for 'Soulbound' and an item (Oralius' Crystal) in bag 1 shows 'true' for soulbound, but is still in Bag1.

blizzard have categorised it as a potion so its under that by default.
just go back into edit mode and change it to system > soulbound instead if thats where you prefer it
I fixed my issue. I just created a rule for Soulbound ("sb()")) and tied that to the bar instead. Apparently 'System Soulbound' is different that sb().
Hi,
I got the newest legion beta version (3.06.02 LEGION BETA)
after the update I had to reconfigure my bags and the items in custom grps. took me about 15 minutes no biggy.
What bugs me is the items don't always get sorted into their custom grps.
They sometimes stay in my everything not grped window. Opening and closing bags does not work but when I enter Edit Mode they get sorted.
Bugsack does not report an error.
Hope this helps you (and me :D)
how do you have sorting set? default is to only sort when you click on refresh. if you want it to sort every time you open the bag youll need to change it
Ah found the option. Did you change it in this version cause with 3.06.01 LEGION BETA it alway refreshed on bag open /close?
Second thing I just found.
You seem to have moved the Custom Grp category. I can find it if I go to the options but if I enter
edit mode-> Rightlick item-> custom-> create a new custom category
I get an empty window
yes, the default changed
yes i moved it (and yes that broke it)
fixed it in the next release (along with the same issue for bar sorting)
cool cheers mate
I'm having issues with some items not displaying their count or not including a count from a specific location. For example in item A's tool-tip will say: "Character Name: 1 (1 Void Storage)" when I have one in void storage and one in my bag of the same item. Or item B simply won't have a count tool-tip at all. It seems to be mostly prevalent for all Mythic Hellfire Citadel gear, but there are a few other occurrences on blues and other old gear. Has anyone encountered this or knows of a fix?
live version, yes there is an issue with item counts not getting reset for "new" items, its fixed in the legion beta but that doesnt work on live
Getting error message on Legion Beta version.
You forgot to set Threads.WhileInCombat back to true
thats fine, its meant to be there. if you have threading enabled the error messages wont turn up
Ok, thanks. How do you enable threading, I can't seem to find that option?
