ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
This is probably an issue with guild banks in general. When I try to put a lot of stuff in my GBank really fast, it just suddenly stops putting stuff in and I have to slowly put them in. I think it's either a restriction Blizz made or it's just the "nature of the beast" of that feature in WoW.
I open my guild bank. I click on the Reagent Bag and then click "deposit all reagents". At that point maybe one or two items go in or none at all. I then have to physically move each of the items from my bag into the reagent section of the guild bank. I do have the current version. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)
right click "Restack" in your personal bag and there is a cleanup function. Alternatively and more easier, click the bank restack and it should just happen.
How do i move reagents automatically? i do not see a button for it ans TSM isn't popping up either.
I have a small feature request: change the slot icon of empty profession bag slots to the profession icon (or at least change the color of the icon rather than the border). I use the border colors so I can differentiante between my profession bags but the borders are very faint.
I'm having a weird bug where items keep getting placed in bar 16. It doesn't matter what I have the item set to, it gets tossed in bar 16 and stuck there. Sometimes the items will get unstuck and go in the correct section but sometimes I have to completely exit the game and come back to get them to cooperate. I really don't want to clear out all my settings and start fresh is there anything else I can try before going to that extreme?
Edit: I cleared bar 16 and now everything is going into my main bar... Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/dPmid68.jpg As you can tell I have bar 24 setup for custom -> ret but it's all going in bar 1 (it was all going in bar 16 until I cleared it). This isn't just for custom items but everything I pickup.
Edit2: After uninstalling/reinstalling and setting everything back up I was still having trouble. I figured out what was causing the issue though! I enabled "New Items" and apparently it's glitched in Windows 10? It kept overriding items as "New Item" even when they weren't new and moving it into whatever bag I had setup for "New Items". Completely disabling "New Item" seemed to fix the issue.
hey there, thanks for your great work so far. i´m missing one thing that used to work some time ago. if u open your crafting book u could once see the amount of items u got by mouseover the item, but this is no longer supported, i´d love to get this feature back
blizzard broke it a while back (the API returns an incorrect itemlink) and havent gotten around to fixing it
There seems to be issues with the crl().
For example this rule: 'type( "consumable" ) and subtype ( "food & drink", "potion", "scroll" ) and not clr( 10 )' matches "Scroll of Protection VII", but not "Runic Mana Potion" and they both require level 70 to use.
If I take the same rule and remove the not then it swaps and matches the potion, but not the scroll. I have a problem with using the crl() with armor as well. For example 'type( "armor", "weapon" ) and not clr( 10 )' does match items that require my level to use. Even looking in the debuf info it shows the correct Item Level (Use), but still doesn't match properly work.
Firstly, love the addon, it's great! Secondly, I think I found a bug(feature? :) ) when moving a Bar in the Edit Mode.
eg. moving a bar from position 2 to position 5:
This happens when using a used or unused Bar for Move Complete. Also tried inserting a bar and using the new bar for the move complete, but the same thing happened.
Thanks again for the great addon!
If you got into Edit mode and right click the item in question, you can change the category of the item to that of any of the others, or to a self-defined category, by selecting a category under the 'Assignable Categories' header.
In regards to the Hearthstones, I'd suggest making a user-defined category perhaps called 'Teleport' and assign that to the bar and the items.
Hope that makes sense! :)
I'm just learning how to use Rules. So far, so good. I only run into one rather nagging thing that I can't figure out. How do you override the defaults? I have a rule that basically says anything that has "Hearthstone" goes to bar #1. Unfortunately, the Hearthstones stubbornly remain in "Default" bar. I have another example where I make all tradeskill items (that are not crafting reagents) go to bar #10 (eg). However, equippable items like "Herbalist's Spade" and Archaeology reagent items like "Restored Artifact" stubbornly refuse to budge from their respective default bars (equippable / reagents). I have the rule including Archaeology and Herbalism in them... "tooltip("Herbalism", "Archaeology" ) but nothing will budge them unless I change their bars manually from equippable and reagents to SKILLS. I have the same thing when trying to move pet buscuits and safari helm to PET bar and not SOULBOUND bar. Am I missing something? Can I override these defaults which won't release the various items from their grimy clutches of evil?
Hi, trying to reduce the amount of data written to the hard drive on logout.
Even when the settings to save Pets, Mounts, Toys and Currency data is disabled, it still writes all of this information to the Saved Variables file.
Is this intended?
It does make sense, I was doing that prior to learning how to do rules. I was hoping I could change it with rules, and not forcing it over with changing categories. As for Hearthstones, I do have a user-defined category called "Hearths" - I was hoping I could put my karabor neck, kirin tor ring, cloaks of home cities, etc. into this category. I can't tell yet if some of these went into this category (I haven't been on the toons that have all the items), but the hearthstones themselves don't want to go in here so I forced them in the way I did previously (the way you mentioned).
Edit: Oops - was meant to reply to the post that I originally had, where you answered ending with "Hope that makes sense! :) "
restacking the guild bank is incredibly slow (due to the way updates work for it) but it should work. it used to work but i havent actually done that for a while now so it may have broken when i was mucking around with the restack code. i'll have a look when i get home
When I hit the restack button, it prints the start and complete messages in the chat at the same time (though always in the correct order). So, rather than it simply just taking a very long time, I think the feature is bugged entirely. Normally there's some sort of pause or delay with my game for a brief moment when I hit the button, but nothing of the sort with the guild bank.
Apologies if this was already posted, Google didn't show anything when I searched for this issue.
I'm not sure if it's simply because I don't know how this all works, but nothing happens whenever I try sorting (restacking, etc.) my guild bank. I've tried both Blizzard's cleanup and ArkInventory's restack methods, and neither do anything. If I try to sort my bank or inventory, however, everything works as intended. Am I doing something incorrectly, or is the guild bank weird in some sort of way?
For the record, I am the guild master, so it's not like I would have a lack of permissions to edit the guild bank.
set the maximum size of the window in the config, it should then scroll instead of getting too large to fit
Hey, thank you so much for continuing to work on this addon! This is an issue i've had for a while but I haven't been able to find any info on it. When I go into edit mode it expands my bags vertically so that a lot of it goes off sceen...is there a way to stop this?
The mod never holds onto full offline data about my main's bag. Instead of the full 80 of 136 slots of bag space, I see only 15 of 16 slots: the "wearing" list is entirely empty. Both of these seem to work perfectly when I'm on the main, and offline data seems to be correct for all other characters, as well as for the main's bank and guild bank. I've tried deleting the data for the affected character as well as for all characters, but it doesn't seem to help.
My main's a L100 feral druid: I also have a L93 feral druid who does not seem to be affected in the same way, in case that makes a difference.
