ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
config > display > workarounds
you shouldnt really need it on unless youre getting script timer errors
I'm unsure whether this is possible, but how do you change the font size of the various items: count, title etc? I've changed the type face, but for the life of me I can't find the size options.
you cant, i havent looked into how to change that yet
Aha. So I'm not blind :) Would be awesome if you could add it in the future.
Bug? The rule matching seems very buggy for me. I have my gear in different bars based on rules. However, often if I happen to click restack multiple time (IE: double click or triple click), then everything gets dumped into bar #1.
Also, while in an instance, and out of combat, the gear will sometimes be in the proper bar.. other times it'll be in bar #1. It seems random.
do you refresh the window after the restack?
I've tried refresh and /reload, the routine just seems very unreliable for me. Now, if I open my bag in a few minutes.. it may be correct... and then break again.
You can see an example in the link below.
The Embersilk cloth is both in the far left bar as well as in the default bar.

I am having the same issue over the past few days. Also, when I click on herbs/ore/ ect it does not automatically stack them or put them in the reagent bank. :(
when it happens go into edit mode and check what category/rule is assigned to the bar and items. the only way for the same item to end up in two places is a bag category as that overrides the items category
I didn't have the same items/rules/etc assigned to the same bar. However, I wrote down all my rules/settings, deleted my arkinventory.lua settings file and re-setup everything from scratch. Things appear better for now.
I'm curious if I just had some old junk in the lua file that was messing things up.
I did notice that I can still sometimes force arkinventory to filter things improperly if I hit the re-stack button really fast over and over and over. closing/re-opening the bag shows things properly once again though.
if you can actually hit the restack button multiple times without any errors coming up about a restack already running then youre most likely using blizzards cleanup function - which can move things around a lot even if theres no need - so you may have to refresh the bag afterwards
3.06.02 Legion Beta is out, has a few changes, nearly all in the config. you may want to copy your live savedvariables over to confirm that your config (not item) data gets converted properly
All,
I upgraded to a new computer. I copied my Interface and WTF folders to the new one and updated addons. When I logged in for the first time tonight, I seem to have lost all of my custom ArkInventory bags and rules.
Any idea what would have caused this? Possible influences:
- Old computer had WoW in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft New computer has it in D:\Games\World of Warcraft. Any impact or variable I need to change to make it find the ArkInv rules?
- It's been 2 months since I last played. Was there a change to ArkInv in preparation for Legion that would have caused this?
ArkInventory is WoW inventory to me! Any help getting it back and working again would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
theres nothing in the savedvariables file that points to its location so you can change wow directory whenever you want. just make sure the arkinventory.lua is actually in there with all the others.
any code changes that alter the data structure mean i upgrade the data to the new format, or spit out warnings to tell you its been deleted
Hi Folks
How can I have my items, as in the screenshot, when I restack, fill from the bottom up, i.e. reverse mode?
//mods.curse.com/addons/wow/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">http://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/">Screenshot
screenshot link doesnt work so not sure but my restack code doesnt care about where things come from or end up so you would have to change the restack option to use the blizzard cleanup code instead, and then set the reverse mode option for that
right click on the restack icon to set the restack type and right click on a bag icon to see the cleanup options
I recently changed the name of my guild and both the old name and the new are showing up when I hover over an item. Is there a way to remove the old name? I've searched through the various helpers and the options and can't seem to find anything.

open the vault window, follow the instructions in the above link
Is there a way to set up a rule which checks if an item in my bags is either already on the auction house (my own auctions ofc) or in a specific tab in my guild bank?
no, rules collect items and you can assign a rule to a bar
the item tooltip can be made to show if other locations/characters/vaults have the same item
