ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
depending on where that is its probably a soulbound flag
the saved variables follows the same structure as the variables it lives in, which are ArkInventory.Const.DatabaseDefaults.profile and ArkInventory.Const.DatabaseDefaults.global (check ArkInventory.lua)
I am having alot of lag when i open my bags or bank. Sometimes freezes my whole game up. Anyone know why?
Trying to figure out a rule for items that are part of an equipment set? I thought the "outfit" tag was the correct one to use, however the problem I'm having is that if I have multiple of an item in my bags, but only one is part of a set, it still sorts the duplicate item into the bag.
it'll do that, annoying isnt it. havent figured a way to fix that yet
i cant remember if its supposed to work there (i may have forgotten to hide the option). i'll need to double check the code
feel free to submit a bug report
Bug report submitted, thanks for looking into it!

I've noticed that item age display has stopped working for the guild bank. I have deleted and recreated my profile to no avail. It seems to work fine for my bags and personal bank, but ticking the option in Settings for the guild bank has no effect. Please can you help?
Just a quick question from a newbie, when I right click items to remove them either from bank to bags or vice versa it takes a second or 2 to happen and if i right click fast, it often doesn't register and stays put. I'm a new user to this addon so I'm used to the normal blizz bags etc, which is instant transfer of individual items.
So my question is, is the lag in the right click transfer normal for this addon or is my setup wrong?
its probably normal, theres is an option in the config about how quickly to update, you could try lowering that, just realise that the more you lower it the more work it has to do to show the updates
bucket timers i think (sorry not in game at the moment)
when i get around to coding the next major version ill probably add it if i can - you can always give them a copy of your saved variables file (just make sure you remove any identiying account or character data you dont want in there)
I would love an Export Profile feature to be able share bag setups with friends.
hello, first I want to thank for this great addon, without a doubt one of my favourites.
Question: Is it possible to somehow move all the items matching a category into the bank? same thing the other way, get all the items matching a category/rule?
for example, this is my current setup:

I'd love to be able to move all my "Ashran" items into the bank easily since I dont do Ashran more than once a week. Similar case, be able to retrieve/deposit all my "fishing/cooking" stuff at once would be great.
If this is not possible, I'd love it as a posible future update, (or if maybe there's another addon that can recognize arkinventory categories and do this).
thanks in advance and keep the great job!
edit: I was able to do it with an aditional addon (tsm).
When moving a bar to another bar #, the Name doesn't always get moved with the bar. The name sometimes ends up being moved to the the n + 1 bar.
Okay, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it.
Arkinventory won't put items into profession bags. In fact, it won't even do it when the reagent bank is full and the profession bag is empty. I'm sure I just need to make a rule or something, which I've done before, but I can't figure out where to set it. Could you point me in the direction I should be looking? Thanks!
if you mean during a restack make sure you have the option enabled to move items to the bank. moving reagents is a different option.
right click on the restack icon to get the option menu for it
one of the major points of a custom category is that it overrides any rule assignments.
Hi Guys, any chance you could add a rule function to search a custom category? I want to design a rule like: category("transmog") and not equip(). There is no way to do this currently because applying a custom category to a bar seems to always override a rule.
Is it possible to make a rule that puts all the items that are able to be sold at the AH into one bar?
Thanks
probably, not soulbound is a good place to start, there should be enough rule functions to cut it down to what you need
Hi! Love this addon, but I'm curious if there's a way to add a rule for usable items (e.g. Aviana's Feather)? I've done a lot of searching for this rule, and the best I could find was someone saying that "useable()" would work. However, this doesn't seem to be the case. As soon as I create this rule, my entire inventory gets pushed into my main default bag, which is odd. As soon as I delete this rule again, the inventory goes back to the appropriate bags.
Is there a way to create this custom rule, and is it possible to have this included as one of the options in the "System" set of selections by default in a future release?
[edit] I found the answer to this by using the tt() ruleset.
