ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hi,
The issue is when something new goes into your bags it has a small glow/pulse to make the new bag items stand out. This glow/pulse does not go until you curse over the item. Any search you do while this glow/pulse is on any item, keeps these items highlighted as well as the items you are searching for, making it look like the search function is broken & finding random non relevant items.
Not sure if this is intended & there is an option to change it or you could come up with a fix but hopefully this explains the search issues people have been experiencing & you could take a look when you have the time
Many thanks,.
Reeb.
its not intended and its fixed in my working code now so will be in the next release
cofnig > settings > location > window > height
set that and it will add a scrollbar if the contents get too large
Hi! I am having an issue that I think is related to too many bag slots, possibly. When I am in my bank, I can see everythign fine. But when I click the "edit" button, everything shoots off the screen and I can't get to the bags or the items. Here are screenshots.

Any idea how to fix this? Is there a way to make the items in the bank fill from the top of the bar instead of from the bottom?
It would be very cool if I could open the "Big Crate of Salvage" if a window of the merchant is open. For example with a ALT-Click oder something. Now I must open some of them, click the merchant, sell the items, close the window of the merchant and so on.
Great addon by the way :)
I'm getting this same problem. It's asking for "Blizzard_GuildBankUI, Blizzard_VoidStorageUI, Blizzard_PetJournal". I don't know how to fix this issue.
From time to time, ArkInventory claims that it needs a few dependencies that are Blizz_TransmogUI etc etc. I've checked my Addons folder, and they're in there, but that doesn't seem to please ArkI. I can't remember how to resolve this, any tips?
ArkInventory isnt coded to have Blizz_TransmogUI as a dependency so im not sure why you would be getting that message
it tracks all currencies, its up to you which ones are displayed. right click on the LDB object to bring up the menu
Would it be possible to have the status bar track Garrison Resources?? It currently tracks Justice Points and Valor Points, neither of which exists anymore. I'd love to see these removed and have Garrison Resources, and perhaps Apexis Crystals tracked instead? Thanks! Love your addon, I've been using it for years!
This happens to me for over a year now (always used latest release version):
When I enter some text in the seach: box, a lot of items are highlighted that have nothing to do with the text I entered. Like I enter "trigger" into the search field and AI highligths "Bag of Salvage Goods" and some BOE Greens, and worst of all: my just created True Iron Trigger ist NOT highlighted!
First it happens only on chars that has profession bags equipped. But now this bug happens to chars whith all standard bagds.
I tried very trick to get rid of "bad data" ( deleting arkinv inclunding WTF setting, clearing cache etc). But it won't help.
Any idea?
I am having the same issue. Some of the slots in my bag contain items but ... they are barely visible and search will not find them. If you carefully cursor over the "empty" slots the tool tip will pop up saying what item is actually there. Also, sometimes if i move an item, swapping places with another item, the icons do not change, but the tooltips will show the info for the correct item in the slot. Frustrating, to say the least.
And i also have the problem that it will not stack items in the reagent bag in the bank
I am attempting to set up a set of three rules and I am having trouble.
They are to sort out gear into three sets, ordered 23-25
Gear that is relivant now (anything for my current level or previous 2 levels)
Gear that would be good in the future (anything that requires a level higher than what I am now)
Gear that is old (anything more than 2 levels under requirement)
The point is to sort out old gear that I pick up when running older content from current gear I may have. I also send BoEs to alts and I would like to have all that gear I am waiting to be able to use in its own space, then on leveling I can just look in the new place for upgrades.
I was using clr(2,0) to find current gear but nothing was hitting that rule. I also couldn't get gear to read as old unless I used clr(0,600). clr(0,500) wouldn't work. To my understanding of the rule, the first arguement should be under level anyway, so that seems to be odd.
Can anyone help me out with this? If I only had one character it would be easy but I want the rules to account for current level all the time.
Maybe it's just something onebag did but I'll check later, but onebag on right click reagents automatically go to the reagent bank once you have it purchased but i thought that was native to wow not part of an addon.
if its a feature in onebag I would not complain if it appeared in arkinventory.
I'd imagine you could come up with something that works like this
you can also right lcick on the cleanup icon
Having a problem with the text search and with items being hidden. I type something in and it finds entirely irrelevant things. Like I type 'iron horde scraps' and it only shows draenic seeds. And when I pick up a new item, it's often shaded so that it looks like an empty slot, and I have to indivudally mouse over everything to find it. I've tried to turn off the 'shade items' options I can find, but it still does it. Help?
(added later) It also refuses to stack things in the reagent bank. If I have one savage blood in there, and deposit another, it puts it in a regular bank slot separate from the one already in there. (Or, more likely, gives me an error that the bank is full. I'm a hoarder. :P)
Having the Reagent bank issue, as well. (Have plenty of room. Not a hoarder. :P)
Are you right clicking items to move them? If so that defaults to your normal bank space. You either have to either drop them in the blue squares or right click on the reagent bag and choose "deposit reagents".
That did it. It never occurred to me to rightclick on one of the bags... thanks.
if youre using any sort of skinning mod please make sure you update the skin, some of them appear to have issues
