ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Love this addon, but 6.1 has broken it - it's missing three dependencies: Blizzard_GuildBankUI, Blizzard_VoidStorageUI, and Blizzard_PetJournal.
Also have the same issue
I also have this issue.
I noticed someone else has already filed a ticket:
https://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/issues/detail?id=702
Temporary, imperfect fix: If you go into the ArkInventory.toc file and delete the following line:
Then you can load the addon and get in, albeit with a error about the petjournal. Not thoroughly tested, and hopefully an official fix is on the way. I love this addon!
Thank you for this fantastic addon and for keeping it updated. That's all :)
Right clicking "reagent" items from my bags while my bank window is open does not automatically deposit them in to the reagent bank.
Is there a way to change this or is it a bug? I do not like using the deposit all reagents option as there are items I do not wish to deposit automatically.
The "New Items" category doesn't work very well. Ideally it should only show "new" items that you acquire. In reality, it shows any change in item stacks, so if you use one of something, or loot something that you already have, it moves that stack to the "new" section. Even picking up an item and swapping it with another item in your bag causes both items to be added to the "New Items" category.
yes, technically its any changed item - i dont check how an item ended up in your bags, thats been irrelevant so far, and coding for every possbility seems like way too much work for too little reward
I'm working with Rules for the first time and really only want to make one type.
I want a rule that would match where all ilvl < 630. This way I can put all gear in a bar for low level items.
Something like that. I tried clr( 1, 99 ) but that doesn't seem to work and would prefer ilvl matching < 630
Yeah I just found that out.. /facepalm
Don't work sotr in the bank
Awesome addon but...
could item counts be in top left instead of bottom right as they are always hidden by mouse cursor
not a biggy but annoys me
thanx for addon use it all the time
Hi Arkayenro,
I've become completely dependent on your wonderful addon, so thanks very much for that! :)
I have but two issues that don't cease to annoy me, so I came here to ask you about possible solutions for those.
First, the zero-size-bag-bug. I think that's what it's called. ArkInventory fails to remember the contents of my main character's bags. Bank, Void Storage and everything else works just fine, bags on all other toons on several realms work fine (and that's quite a lot of toons). Why doesn't my main's bag work? If i understand it right, this is a bug on Blizzard's side, so I suppose you can't do anything about this, but is there anything known about the causes, or triggers, for this issue? I speculated the type of bags might be part of the problem, but since I switched those bags several times by now (all Hexweave Bags right now), this shouldn't be it... why my main and none of the other toons? Maybe it's some items I own? If there's any workaround known or if you can tell me anything about causes or trigger factors for that stupid bug, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Second, a minor thing. I like to use the feature for gold- and item-tooltips. When I mouseover my gold, I can see perfectly where all the money is and how much it is total. What I would really, really love, would be a way to sort that list (many toons, as mentioned before...), not alphabetically, but according to servers. I need to know how much gold I have on server A, and how much on server B. The total across all servers is of no use to me. :/ Of course I could disable the "all servers" option, but I do want to see the gold on the other server as well. I'd find it perfect if the list would look something like, for example:
Aegwynn
- Toon 1 134g
-Toon 2 2566g
total: 2700g
Kil'Jaeden
......
and so on. A complete total at the end, maybe. But it would be so incredibly helpful to see at first glance, how much gold I own on which server. Need to plan auctions, investments, and stuff, you know. :)
will be in the next version
will see what i can do
Hi Arkayenro,
Firstly thanks for the amazing addon, all of your work is greatly appreciated.
I have a couple of small cosmetic feature requests which would be great if it wouldn't be too much hassle to add them.
1) Option to change the colour of the title and search text from green. I can see an option to change the global font but nothing to be able to set the colour.
2) An option to be able to display only the gold tooltip and not the item tooltips.
Kind regards,
Herem
Thanks for implementing the font colours, ArkInventory finally matches the rest of my UI now :o)
assign the categories skills > herbalism and empty > herbalism (if you want the empty slots there as well) to a bar, dont use a rule unless you really have to, and dont use bag() on a shared profile, not unless you put the same bag types into the same slots on each character.
Hello,
Trying to best categorize my different bags to view quickly for items.
I made a Rule "Herb" that used all things related to Herbalism and then also do "Bag(3)" -- this all works perfectly. All herb-related items on set to that now.
Another alt has Bag(3) a regular bag, which I don't want. I looked at the Debug Info for my bags and saw the type and subtype, so I changed bag(3) to "type("Container") and subtype("Herb Bag") " and that does not work. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
I also have problems with the cleanup button. When used, it doesn't stack items properly and randomly moves items in differents categories.
I have to use the update button to have items sorted in the good categories again but auto-stacking doesn't work.
