ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
the game backs up the file every now and then so check your saved variables folder for an ArkInventory.bak file, if there is one rename it to .lua (youll want to rename the current .lua to .old first)
and make your own backups from now on, even if its only once a month as its not like people change their config that often
Thank you, but can you tell me exactly where to find this file? I'm not real savy on things like this.
\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables
Thank you very much
they have to be a perfect match on the outfit name, including case, so if they are then it might not like the apostrophe chatacter inside quotes, try using outfit( [[Primal Gladiator's]] )
i use a custom category as blizzard dont have and internal one for just them. there may be a periodic table group for them as well that could be used (i havent looked)
I tried to make a rule for my pvp gear..
Create new rule: PVP GEAR
Formula:
outfit( "Primal Combatant's" )
outfit( "Primal Aspirant's" )
outfit( "Primal Gladiator's" )
Doesn't work?
I made 3 rules, and they saved... but the gear doesn't go tot he bar?
Also, how do i get garrison weapon/armor enhancements to be in their own bar?
[Braced Armor Enhancement] I tried using item enhancements but they don't fit that category.
im adding the instance id to the interal id so that should hopefully treat the normal, lfr, heroic, mythic, etc variants as different items
Hey. In WoD, items have the same id from normal, heroic and mythic. Is there any way you can make Arkinventory distinguish between them? It's a little annoying when I get an item and it says I already have one in bank, then later I find out it's a different version.
You can see on wowhead they are seperated by an extra id. 566, 567 etc.
Awesome :)
rule formula: equip( ) and quality( 2 )
Thank you
I'm trying to make a bar for all equipment epic, another for blues, another for greens... can't seem to figure this out.
Thanks
Is there a status on the usable() function?
As an altoholic, this is my "Christmas has come early" wish and i'm dying for this to be fully implemented!!
i would prefer not to add rule functions in unless they are really basic which is why i made it so you can create your own custom functions if you know a bit of Lua coding.
check the ArkInventory_Rules_Example mod and feel free to play around with that as a starting point.
if you need help you can ask here as well (i just dont want to maintain everyones custom code myself)
once you get it right feel free to upload it to curse or other places if you think others will benefit from it.
Would having something that would check which class the current player is be complicated? That would suffice to be honest.
you cant hide a whole bar but you can hide a category, so create a custom category called stuff i dont want to see, assign it to any bar, then go to the bar assignments and set that category to hide, then assign items to that category and youll never see them again.
except in edit mode, and if you want to see them temporarily right click on the refresh icon and select show hidden (turn it off when no longer needed)
Very, very cool! That does exactly what I need it to!
Thanks for your really quick reply!
I can't seem to find an option to have a bar be hidden. I have items I would like to keep in my bags, but have no interest in viewing. How do I create a hidden bar?
For instance, profession items like the Virtuoso Inking Set, that I never actually "use". but need to have on me. Theres quite a few of these items, and they're just clutter on my screen.
When you're in your bank. Right click the regent tab and select deposite regents.
I'm a big fan of the "Deposit All Reagents" option under Cleanup at the bank. But I'm confused about something. I first started using this on my mage, and now, whenever I click Cleanup at the bank, it automatically deposits all reagents. But on my hunter, I have to specifically select Deposit All Reagents to get it to work. I'm wondering if there's something I did when i started doing it on my mage that I've forgotten about since then.
So how do/did I get it to work automatically?
