ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
yep, that ones better. i think i cant fix that one.
will be gone next version
My chat gets spammed with
ArkInventory: WARNING> no land mounts available, checking flying mounts for fallback
ArkInventory: WARNING> no land or flying mounts available, checking underwater mounts for fallback
when in an underground area.
Using v3.04.05
Thanks for your hard work!
Thank you for the fast update for 6.0! I had almost forgotten how garbage the default UI is for bags and such. Been using ArkInventory for years and it's one of those AddOns I cannot live without.
you can use the beta until i upload the next one
Should I use this for this patch or should I wait for update?
Any chance of putting a "deposit resourses" button in for hte new banbk tab or ... even better automatically depositing resourses when you go to the bank?
open the bank location, open the bag changer, right click on the last bag (reagent tab)
you can either deposit all reagents manually or enable the cleanup option to do it then
use the beta for the moment, i've fixed a couple of issues and ill upload that as a normal version
Will there be an updated version of the addon this evening? It doesn't seem to want to load, eventually fails out with some sort of translation error.
Is it at all possible to condense all of the empty slots from various bags, into one button? There is really more empty space that filled at times and it annoys.
not yet, but it will be in 3.04.05 (WoD release)
yeah sure. I have a batch file that updates everything evertime when I startup my PC. so worst case szenario for me is if I change something and crash my interface, I have to roll back one day. so that shouldn't be a problem.
thanks for the quick reply. for me, AI is still by far the best bag addon out there. using it since the pretty much the beginning. :)
should all just work.
i would suggest taking a backup of all your settings though, patches and expansions have been known to corrupt some of them.
Hi,
I'm happy seeing that you continue to support this addon in WoD. I currently have a LOT of custom settings, including rules etc. Will they continue to work, or do I need to configure everything from scratch again?
Thanks,
xeb
easiest way to check is to login to the character that has the correct settings, then check what profile its set to use.
then login to the other character and set the profile to be the same, then the settings will be idential (except for the character only ones)
I decided to install this addon in beta WOD (beta version of addon used). It took a little getting used to and setting up as I had never used it before but I'm really impressed by it so far. The only problem seems to be profiles. After setting it up on 1 character, I saved it as a new profile. I then went on another character and changed the profile to the new one I had created but it is still showing the original profile. Is it because I should have created a new profile before changing the settings and therefore the new profile I did create hasn't got the new settings or have I done something else wrong? I hope I've explained myself ok :)
I know you have your hands full, with WoD coming up, so I just would like to put something on the wish list. For the mounts hotkey option, I'd like there to be a way to set it to favorites only, or to restrict it in some way. While it works very well, there are some mounts I'm just not that eager to see at times, so doing this would solve the issue. Just something to put in the notebook.
Thanks for the hard work, believe me, I would not want to play WoW without this addon!
open the ai mount window, click on the main menu icon, select mount, select the type of mount, find the one you never want summoned and select ignore
(this is WoD version. I will check the live version as well)
Yes, I did try that but the only option I could see was to set favorite. I have been going through the menus and options in the interface as well but can't find any ignore. Setting favorites doesn't stop the other mounts from being used. In addition, while I was in the ai menu, I got this error:
