ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Greets!
I'm so glad to have this addon for WoD! I just can't live without it.
Here's an interesting thing you might want to look into. When I sort my bank, all the crafting mats go back to the regular bags instead of the new resources bank bag. Even if I remove all rules concerning mats, they still won't go in there. Did I miss something? I'm wondering how to get it to prefer that bag and, if possible, find a way to sort according to type inside that one bag. Prolly can't do the latter but I'll settle for not having them all pop back into the regular bags when I sort.
Just thought I'd let you know. Keep up the good work!
its there, it just defaults to being off
every bag has cleanup options
not 100% sure (i might have removed that capability) but i think you can allocate an entire bag to a bar, if so then you can set the sorting on that one bar to be how you want
I've noticed that the LDB addons for pets and mounts don't show the correct icon. For my pets, I'm getting what appears to be a dice icon. And there is no text. Same with mounts. It's just an icon.
there are two die icons, one for all random (blue i think) and one for selected random (brown i think)
the only time you will get an actual mount icon is when you select a single mount from the list
the LDB icons also may not update until you zone
Anyone else having issues with item counts disappearing? The bag functions normally but the numbers on items stop displaying completely until i do a /reloadui.
Hey Arkayenro.
I love this mod and cannot play WoW without it. The default Blizz UI bags dont do it for me. I was just wondering on the progress for WoD with all the UI changed to bags, is this wonderfully useful addon going to get the update it deserves?
I have beta access and would love to offer to test out any alphas you might be working on, when addons are unlocked on the beta of course.
Thank you again for all your efforts with keeping this addon going, it is the best bag mod.
WOD betas have been available for a while now, they should be available under the other downloads area
Awesome, and as usual, you rock.
Going to check out the beta versions now.
Thank you, for all you do for us.
As other wrote, 3.03.36 freezes on the load screen ~90% (and freezes WoW and whole Windows for me) in Windows 7 64 bit, tested with every addon settings, deleted configs, cache etc. BUT: Same files, same config, same machine loads the addon fine and works well in Windows 7 32 bit. Not same patches on the 2 Windows system. I noticed ACE3 library dies too (for me) on the load screen in 64 bit. Are You using some libs from it?. Thank You for this addon.
AI is Ace3 based so using about 12 modules
im running windows 8.1 64bit and dont have the issue though
AI seems to freeze periodically, not updating any of the items in my bags. The only workarounds I've found for this are to erase the bag data and reopen the bag or to do a /reload. Otherwise, the bags don't properly show what is actually in them. Any suggestions?
I am experienceing this issue as well. I am using the newest release V.3.03.36 for the live realms.
try with a new level 1 character and see if it still happens
im not getting the issue myself so its hard to diagnose, but the mod hasnt changed for two months on live so its probably item related
i just logged in with the mod enabled. its working fine now. im sure it had something to do with the DDOS attacks blizz faced and the caching that the mod did was just too much for the server at the time. looks like all is fixed now.
I cannot load the game when I use this Addon. I recently just reinstalled the game and if I have No Addons (a fresh Interface/WTF file) I can access the game without an issue. But if I install just Arkinventory I get kicked out about 90% through loading with an 'You have been disconnected'
I'm having the same issue. Disable the addon and I can log in. Activate it and I get stuck at 90% on the character loading screen.
Same issue as well, however the first time I attempt to login to the game, it gets to 90-100% and then immediately disconnects. Subsequent attempts stick at 90% for a minute before disconnecting. Disable the addon allows me to log into the game successfully.
If it helps, this happens on a fresh install with no previous configuration.
It seems related to the pet window error blizzard is trying to fix, however after messing around with code I've sort of got it working, but still causes the occasional disconnect and other bags not to work.
what version of ai do you have (check the arkinventory.toc file) and are you using the warlords beta or pandaria live game client?
i'm not seeing any issues loading the beta version of the mod or being disconnected at 90% in warlords
Can anyone tell me how to use void storage with arkinventory? I've tried right-clicking on items and nothing happens. I've also tried dragging item from inventory to void storage window and nothing happens. I would search the comments here and at wowinterface, but I don't see a way to search comments. I looked through the FAQ and Wiki and I don't see anything there regarding void storage. I've also looked through Google. If there is something somewhere, I'm not able to find it. Thanks!
EDIT: Got it sorted. Appears to be some kind of issue with the prompt to pay 100g to unlock void storage. It wasn't prompting me. It just opened the window and I wasn't able to actually use it since I hadn't paid for it. Once I disabled Arkinventory and did a /reload, it then prompted me for the 100g and I am now able to use it. I've seen similar forum posts on the official forums saying that people have this isssue with Bagnon and some other bag addons too. Maybe something could be added to the Wiki or FAQ about void storage.
