Pitbull 4 Config Menu

PitBull4 is a continuation of PitBull.

Differences from PitBull 3:

  • It's mostly done, but not entirely done thus why there are still only betas (despite this it is still very stable).
  • Documentation is written before functions
  • Much easier for third-party extensions.
  • Options will be much, much simpler. In 3.0, there's about 200 panels that you can mess with, it's overwhelming. I want to bring this down to somewhere around 10.
    • Layouts are defined deterministically and unit groups use the layout rather than ad-hoc layouts on a per-unit basis. This will make setting up your unit frames far, far easier.
    • Due to some decisions made, 4.0 is actually more configurable than 3.0. As a layout designer, you will have a lot more control over how things look. You can have different fonts on the same frame, different textures, more precise positioning, and a whole slough of other things.
  • CPU Efficiency will be taken much more seriously.
  • It uses Ace3 instead of Rock.

    I meant using "|T..|t", not by modifying the results of the aura module.  Thus the approximation. I do this to add a third aura display: debuffs, hots, and shields.  And texts can be shown only when the mouse is over.

    As for the UNIT_COMBAT, thanks! That was easy; sorry I had to ask about it :)

    @Kitjan, Really he can't do it with LuaTexts, the frames get rebuilt on every UNIT_AURA and he can't guarantee that he'll get UNIT_AURA after the Aura module. So it'd be unreliable at best. I thought about telling him to do it.

    As far as the UNIT_COMBAT, just add it in the Modules/LuaTexts config section.

    How can i get a text to update on UNIT_COMBAT? It's not in the dropdown list, is there any other way to register a text for an event?

    @angrysteel: you can approximate it with some clever lua texts, though.

    @ulrich_, Can't say that I've experienced this. Are you sure you've updated to beta10? beta9 would generate errors on events from the boss1-4 events, that were never generated by WoW until 3.3.5. That would cause the problems you're describing and Halion does have boss frames.

    In the latest patch I've experiencing my FPS dropping down below 10 then WoW crashing.

    Happend on a few fights in ICC, but does it all the time on Halion.

    I noticed when I disabled Pitbull4 on the Halion fight I didn't have any FPS problems nor crashes.

    I'm using Beta 10.

    Anyone else experienced this?

    I have been using PB for a few years now, so I am fairly familiar with the GUI, but I have managed to do something today I cant track down. I started a new toon and tried to start editing some of the LUA texts, but not only can I not edit them (when I click in the text box the cursor is unresponsive and it wont accept keyboard input) but all my presets (i.e. "LUA:Class") are in German ("LUA:Klasse). I disabled all other mods and still I have this problem and only with PB4 (latest version within a few days). Thanks in advance.

    Is it possible to only show buffs on mouse-over?

    Basically looking to keep my buffs hidden unless i mouse-over my player frame.
