Skada Damage Meter
Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)
This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.
Features
- Midnight Optimized: Uses Blizzard's internal session data for performance and accuracy.
- Combat Reliability: Handles modern combat data restrictions for a stable experience.
- Updated UI: Includes new presets with smooth animations, gradients, and textures.
- Dynamic Elements: Alternating row colors, highlight overlays, spark effects, and icon scaling.
- LDB Integration: Compatible with Data Broker displays such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, and ElvUI.
- Extensible Architecture: The API allows developers to create additional plugins.
Usage
Getting Started
A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.
Multiple Windows
Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:
- Bar: The standard customizable meter.
- Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
- Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.
Navigation
- Left-Click: View more detailed information.
- Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
- Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
- Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).
Themes
Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.
Versions
- Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
- Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Posted Nov 7, 2012They define what counts as being "in-combat" differently. Skada's numbers are more in-line with what you'd see on World of Logs.

Posted Oct 20, 20122x SkadaHealing-r407\Healing.lua:432: "<name>" expected near "local"
Removing the recently added "local" declaration fixes both errors and restores the two broken modes (Healing and Healing taken).. I don't know why they were added in the first place, you don't declare a variable initialized in a loop as local ever..

Posted Oct 14, 2012Hey, am not sure why but Skada has stopped recording any sort of healing for me...not changed any of the configuration settings. (it records everything else)
Any idea what might be causing this? (Get no LUA errors either)
Cheers.

Posted Oct 13, 2012I have Skada in the bottom right corner of my screen. Unfortunately The gryphons on the Blizzard UI cover it. They didn;t used to cover Recount when I had it. Is there anyway to resolve this? I remember there used to be an option to remove the gryphons, but I am unable to find it anymore. I would prefer Skada on top of the gryphons though.
THanks

Posted Oct 11, 2012Minor bug: I keep Skada closed when solo, and the "Hide when solo" option checked. But every time I take the portal from Stormwind to Jade Forest, it auto opens Skada.

Posted Oct 9, 2012When killing some mobs in the Sumprushes in Townlong, something must've happened to set off Skada and it began tossing continual LUA errors. Looks like it has something to do with the Holy Paladin who was healing, perhaps, or the "Surrounding Mists" buff given in that area. Resetting Skada, and relogging and totally exiting WoW also did not stop these errors, and I think it might just be this location.

Posted Oct 1, 2012since latest expansion I’ve had 2 problems with this addon, 1st off is that after every fight it auto toggles off unless I set it to hide during combat then it will appear after combat, also it will only display total damage, dps,hps and never current fight.
I have tried removing skada and deleting my WTF folder, neither made any difference.
