Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)

This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.

Usage

Getting Started

A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.

Multiple Windows

Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:

Bar: The standard customizable meter.
Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.

Navigation

Left-Click: View more detailed information.
Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).

Themes

Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.

Versions

Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Do you understand what "modular" means? Just delete or disable the addon folders you don't want to use.

I'm not to sure whats wrong, but skada is not showing nothing no more for me, no info on DPS or heals or anything, skada worked for me before. I did a system restore (running win7 from vista) and now nothing... Then again, it did work a few days ago till I started wow again the next day...

Ive been using skada for awhile but just redid my ui and redownloaded everything and now skada has this 'skada summary' window, how do i get rid of it? its the most annoying thing on the planet.

Click on a view in the summary window to show that mode. Right-click to get back to the summary.

make sure you have that specific fight selected. if you have overall, then you won't see anything more than what you described. you have to for example select the Lady Deathwhisper encounter that you just wiped on to see the death log

Really great addon you've made, but I can't figure out one thing. The death log never displays any actual data except the time of death. If I click through the menus to the death logs, first I get a list of everyone who's died and the time, but clicking into the individual records just gives me that info again. Whatthepho at 0 health and the time, but none of the steps leading up to death.

This works for me on single death during an encounter. In case of multiple deaths, I was not able to view the info for each death but only for the last recent.

The author has stated that this is the way that he wishes to calculate DPS. Why would you calculate DPS when you are not DPS'ing. As to your other request I have no clue.

For some reason Skada stops recording my DPS about 5 seconds after i stop attacking, I guess it thinks I drop from combat - even while my DoTs continue to to tick (up to 20 seconds) this is re-creatable everytime at the training dummy. (note at the training dummy I actually DO drop from combat while my DoTs are still ticking.) It leads me to believe skada is not accurate and explains the huge disparity between Skada and Recount everyone sees.

I also want to calculate DPS of others while i am out of combat(i.e. at training dummy) while I am observing/training/teaching other guild members the spell or attack rotation... I need to see thier DPS in real time.

i like this addon because I can arrange DPS and threat on one single meter. however, I noticed it only records DPS while i am in combat. I looked for options and couldnt find anything. I also would like to record others nearby DPS while im not in combat. This addon seems to lack the configurable options recount has, or am I completely missing something?

Had a situation last night where the DPS bars in a 5-man kept showing the same damage after switching from threat mode. Almost like it froze data for a while. I had to reset Skada then it did ok. Any idea what that was?

Same issue as xxyz below - doesn't swap from threat to dmg.

Great addon, I love that the individual tracking areas are optional, so we don't have to track EVERYTHING and bog down our systems.

The only problem I have with is is that when you set it to expand upwards, it starts at the bottom of the list when in a 25m raid. That means mid-fight I see the BOTTOM of the list, aka, the damage the healers are putting out. And I have to scroll up to the top EVERY time I want to see who got top damage done. Kind of annoying. I'd like it to display the top of the list even if expanding upwards.

Well is there a way to get a total dps for the all raid like with recount. It's really usefull to have this information with all the fights that are pretty tight on the enrage timer. If you know you raid dps is 115k and you need 135k to down the boss before enrage then you can move on instead of wiping all night.
The total would be just add all player dps... I'm guessing it should be fairly easy to add.

I have Skada and Recount running at the same time...the damage done seems to be accurate.

however, DPS on Skada is never close to the DPS shown on Recount...why's is that?

If you actually compute the real DPS (time yourself and stop after 60 seconds), you'll see they are both actually wrong.

I'm having the same issue as mentioned in an earlier comment -- after a while, fights become grayed out and unselectable. After much research, I found this very helpful curseforge post about Blizzard breaking UIDropDownMenu in the last patch:
