Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)

This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.

Combat Reliability: Handles modern combat data restrictions for a stable experience.
Updated UI: Includes new presets with smooth animations, gradients, and textures.
Dynamic Elements: Alternating row colors, highlight overlays, spark effects, and icon scaling.
LDB Integration: Compatible with Data Broker displays such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, and ElvUI.
Extensible Architecture: The API allows developers to create additional plugins.

Usage

Getting Started

A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.

Multiple Windows

Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:

Bar: The standard customizable meter.
Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.

Navigation

Left-Click: View more detailed information.
Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).

Themes

Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.

Versions

Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Ever since update, Skada resets itself to tracking per segment, rather than the total. Is there a way to revert this?

Is there a reason why are spells tracked by name, and not by id?

For an elemental shaman, distinguishing (e.g.) Lightning Bolt and Lightning Bolt is very useful: there is the 'base' spell, the proc from Elemental Overload, and there are 4 trinkets (the Lightning Capacitor family) that also cast a spell called Lightning Bolt - it looks like Skada is merging them together, but I'd love to see them separate - Recount does that, but meh, Skada is way better.

Is there any way to make this new version look like the older versions...i.e. not completely hideous?

Seriously. Other than how lightweight it is, the biggest reason I switched to Skada from Recount was how much better it looked. It looks boxy, clunky and obnoxious now. Rolled back to an older version for now, please either fix this in future versions or at least allow a "classic" view for those of us who loved the old look and feel.

Yes, by configuring it. Buttons are removable, resizing is removable (by locking), and textures can be modified too.

Can someone explain to me why Skada "absorbs and healing" is so different from what Recount shows? I thought Recount now shows absorbs but both aren't even close when it comes to my healing as disc priest. Is Skada tracking more than Recount when it comes to absorbs? If I'm to believe Skada, I'm top healer but when people link Recount, I'm usually 2nd or 3rd in heals.

Installed the newest version 1.3-3. Hide in BG's bug still there. It still stays up when I enter any battleground when I have the box checked to hide it.

I can not reproduce this. With "Hide in PVP" enabled my windows are hidden when I enter a battleground.

I should clarify... please restore the option of where to report on the right click of the minimap button rather than have it try to put up a window. Thank you for such a super addon!
