Paste
Paste is a small utility that enables multi-line/unlimited-length pasting of text or commands into WoW
If you've ever tried to paste a paragraph of text or a list of slash commands into WoW you've probably noticed that newlines are stripped and anything over 255 characters is silently truncated. The Paste addon solves this problem.
Usage:
- Open the Paste window via minimap icon, keybind, LDB or /paste show
- Paste your clipboard text into the box with control-v / command-v
- Press the "Paste" button and the entire contents will be sent to your selected channel, one message per line, with long lines automatically split.
- The "Default" channel can be used to execute a list of slash commands (eg TomTom /way commands)
- Options are available via "/paste config"
Fully compatible with WoW 7.x and all chat addons.

It's an interesting idea, but no plans to add it at this time.
Hey, I'm curious if you could make a misspelled extension for this addon. I'm really loving this addon for RP. It's just perfect, and simple to use. Now only wish too be able too catch my spelling like I can do with misspelled addon for "Chat window." It wont work with paste, I have no clue why.
@Stormerdoom
Ticket tracker is fixed, not sure how that got turned off.
so you can't use this to paste in to the macro's window? Just pasting to console text entry?
also I only have a "Close" button
Pasting to the macro editor frame doesn't require an addon, just control-V. This addon is for textual pasting of chat or commands.
If your addon window doesn't look like the screenshot you may have an install problem or conflicting addon. Bug Reports
Hi guys i can't paste anything at the addon using CTRL V ... something wrong?
Make sure the blinking text cursor is in the addon text box before pressing control-V
Hi oscarucb,
I update the PT-BR translations :)
Have a look at Super Duper Macro, it does what you are looking for.
Hi!
First I want to say thanks for a super-addon.
My problem is that I would like o put a massive text into a macro. I get a complete brainfreeze on how to do the actual transfer of the text-mass into the macro.
Is it at all possible to paste an oversized text into a macro?
/ Warm Regards
Macros have a 255-character limit imposed by Blizzard. This addon does not change that restriction, but it often allows you to bypass macros entirely by delivering your commands directly from the Paste window to the command interpreter.
This addon is great, although I am missing the emote (/e) channel. I believe this would be a great addition seeing as many Roleplayers seem to use this addon.
with the recent patch this week, I'm having issues getting anything from Paste to work with TomTom. It could be TomTom though, b/c it's saying "Type /help for a listing of a few commands".
TomTom has not yet been updated for 6.0 and is currently very broken.
Paste is working fine.
Just installed this today, and it completely broke my chat windows. Example here: http://i.imgur.com/AxIgYm9.png
Upon logging in the standard chat window had been resized and re-positioned to the default UI settings, and my secondary chat window had been moved behind it and it's tab had vanished so I couldn't move it to fix it. Turning off Paste fixed this. Not really sure what would cause this, but thought you might want to know.
It's very unlikely this would be caused by Paste, since it never touches the actual chat windows. Paste does include a copy of Ace3, so it's possible some library conflict with your chat addon caused a weird interaction.
Please submit a ticket including your complete list of addons here: http://www.wowace.com/addons/paste/tickets/
Ah, I didn't realize it came with Ace3, sorry for assuming!
h, i have tomtom installed and paste installed, i have then pasted my wall of tomtom /ways into paste, could someone please explain how i then execute the pasted command to work with tomtom, thank you in advance
Just make sure the output channel is set to "Default" and the press the "Paste" button to execute the /way commands.
Really really really loving this addon for RP usage. I was wondering, would there ever be a possibility to add a scaling option? The text itself is fine, perfect legibility, but the UI (i.e.: frames, buttons, etc.) are just huge compared to the rest of my UI and occupies a lot of screen real estate even on a 27" screen. Sadly the 'Move Anything' addon cannot detect what the name of the parent window is so I can't use that to scale it down.
Another thought (and I have no idea if its even possible due to potential game limitations) but hitting the return/enter key to go to the next line does exactly that. Would it be possible to keybind something, or build it in so, say, Shift+Return / Shift+Enter would be the equivalent of clicking the Paste button? Would feel more like the default behaviour when typing into the chat box.
Just some food for thought. Either way, great job on this addon :)
