(broken in Midnight) FocusInterruptSounds
This addon has been broken by Midnight's new API limitations and is now abandoned.
HBlyx has released an addon with as much functionality as allowed here:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/focusinteruptsound-midnight
Update: HBlyx has added target-interrupt functionality so it is a great replacement.
In late February, I will likely have an unofficial patch to HBlyx's addon for people who want the target-interrupt functionality (which HBlyx doesn't want to add).
Makes a sound when your current target (or focus**) starts casting. To configure settings type '/fis' (or go to Interface Options). Also has basic functionality to announce successful interrupts.
** Use with [target=focus] macros for interrupts (Counterspell, Spell Lock, Wind Shear, ...).

Posted Feb 9, 2015The BugSack and BugGrabber addons make it easier to store errors.
Alternatively, you could just upload a screenshot with the error text.

Posted Feb 18, 2015Sorry for late update. I have been collecting bug reports from the addon you suggested, and It turns out that some 'modified' addons causes all the weird issues with my WoW client.
Well, story is, I am playing WoW on a different language domain, there are some impetous players who 'localize' addons outside curse without any agreement from their original developers. I was using at least one of them under the impression that all the addons shared in the local community were original, and It was wrong. :/
I cleared all the addons and related files (cache, etc.. yup I have learned a lot!) in order to remove addons and their residues which were not managed by Curse client proerply, or had unidentified sources. Annnd the clean-up makes FIS perfectly fine. Setting up new addons were painful, but it was worth.
Thank you for all the advice! (and please, understand my poor english)

Posted Feb 8, 2015Sorry, there doesn't appear to be a way in the API to set the volume of a specific sound. If you have a .ogg editor (or happen to have a sound you like better lying around), you can just edit the sound files in FocusInterruptSounds folder.

Posted Nov 8, 2014This mod is a favorite of mine but it appears to be creating errors for me which are preventing this and most of my other mods from running.

This is the mod running on its own, i have tried reinstalling it a few times now.

Posted Nov 8, 2014AceConfigRegistry and CallbackHandlers are just libraries that this mod uses (that error is not in code that I know or own). I'll release a trivial revision, which will repack the mod with the latest versions of those libraries. Hopefully, that will fix the issue.

Hmmmm i still seem to be getting the same error... I discovered if i install a mod called 'ComboPointsRedux' the errors all seem to go away?
Perhaps the answer is inside that mod? Its really annoying as im not a particular fan of the mod, found it trying to find a substitute mod to another that wasnt working, it puts these unusual white boxes all over the place which ive (being its fixed my issue for now) moved them all to a corner where they arnt in my view.
My current mod list isnt very large:
ComboPointsRedux [Options]
NugComboBarGUI
Always keen to try new mods if anyone has any suggestions for a rogue player?

Posted Oct 15, 2014It seems that neither Avenger's Shield or Arcane Torrent notify in party when I use them to interrupt. They also don't produce a sound when I successfully interrupt. Both of these were working fine pre patch. Any ideas?

Posted Nov 8, 2014Arcane torrent was removed from the default list of Player Interrupt Spells because ranged users found it annoying. You can customize this by typing /fis and adding "Arcane Torrent" to the "Player Interrupt Spells" textbox. Remember to press the small "Okay" button just below the text box (otherwise, the change won't be registered).
I'm releasing a new revision that adds Avenger's Shield to the default list. Thanks for the report.

Posted Oct 14, 2014It seems that this isn't working as of 6.0.2 I am not seeing any specific errors but there is no sound when a interuptable spell is being cast. Thank you for your hard work on this mode I love it! :)

Posted Oct 14, 2014I'm investigating. Right now it seems that WoW refuses to play my sound files (which are mp3), but it will play DBM's (which are ogg). Will try to find an OGG converter to see if that fixes the issue.
Update: uploaded new version

Posted Jul 13, 2014Yes, I am a Blood Elf. I did what you said, thank you. But, I am confused, what does being a Blood Elf have to do with it and what did I just do? This is an alt and I never even knew that I had this talent. I see it in my general spell book tab. LOL, not much of an interrupt concidering the cool down...

Posted Jul 13, 2014Yeah, I added it when I saw some pvp rogues use it as an interrupt, but given the long cooldown and the range requirement, I'm thinking of removing it by default.
P.S. Arcane torrent does regen some mana, so you should be using it on cooldown on your Holy Priest..

Posted Jul 12, 2014Is there a way to disable this for one spec, Holy, while leaving it enabled for another, Shadow? FIS does not work for my Holy priest. It constantly honks and I have no way to interrupt. Also, I honks non-stop on the fire arrow shooting guys up on the tower in the second wing of SoO. These guys are at least 3 times the distance for anyones to hit with anything. It also drives me crazy on the second wing. For some reason She always causes my UI to target her throught the fight and when it does, honk honk honk honk...
I love FIS all all my toons but the Holy Priest causes me to turn off my speakers.

Posted Jan 18, 2014Is there an option for target ONLY interuppt sound? Even if I have a different or friendly focus? Am I missing this option?
I see the option where you can "fallback" to target if a no focus is set. But what I do sometimes (especially when healing) is focus a friendly or different target then the one I actually am goiing to interrupt.
Can this option be implemented?

Posted Aug 28, 2013Thank you for this very useful addon. Is it possible to have an option to change the sounds, or at least adjust the volume? The sounds are very loud compared to the other game sounds and I'd like to turn them down or substitute them with something a bit more quiet (without changing the general game sound settings).
edit: I was able to fix the issue by edting the MP3 files that come with the addon, found in the <WOW directory>\Interface\AddOns\FocusInterruptSounds\ directory. I used the open source sound editor Audacity, but any programme that can edit and save MP3 files should work.
