(broken in Midnight) FocusInterruptSounds
This addon has been broken by Midnight's new API limitations and is now abandoned.
HBlyx has released an addon with as much functionality as allowed here:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/focusinteruptsound-midnight
Update: HBlyx has added target-interrupt functionality so it is a great replacement.
In late February, I will likely have an unofficial patch to HBlyx's addon for people who want the target-interrupt functionality (which HBlyx doesn't want to add).
Makes a sound when your current target (or focus**) starts casting. To configure settings type '/fis' (or go to Interface Options). Also has basic functionality to announce successful interrupts.
** Use with [target=focus] macros for interrupts (Counterspell, Spell Lock, Wind Shear, ...).

Posted Dec 30, 2009The option you're looking for is "Target fallback". If this is bothering you, you can uncheck it.
>> i cannot find it in my interface options
I just re-downloaded and tested r56. Both /fis and Interface Options work for me.
A LUA error will probably get thrown when you log into your character (or /reloadui). If you could paste the text for any LUA errors involving FocusInterruptSounds, that would help a lot.

Posted Sep 27, 2009Try unchecking "Check spell availability" and see if it's still "broken". If that fixes the issue, then your spell was probably on cooldown or you didn't have enough mana.
If that doesn't work, please report your class, the mob, and the spell that you expected it to interrupt.

Posted Apr 6, 2009- You don't have an interrupt spell, or you're a DK and it doesn't know your interrupt spell yet, or your interrupt spell isn't castable (cooldown or not enough mana)
- The mod thinks that the spell is instant cast (e.g. PoM-Pyro, or NS-HT)
- The mod thinks that the target is immune (e.g. Divine Protection)
- The spell is blacklisted (e.g. you'd want to ignore Starfire in favor of Wrath or Rejuv)
Anyway, I'm uploading a new version that exposes a lot of new configurable options (and fixes the DK oversight).

Posted Feb 8, 2009I'm running version r 40 with WoW 3.0.8 and I'm not having any problems.
For those of you who may not be familiar with this addon, it makes a sound when your target is casting something that it thinks you might want to interrupt, but what I like the most is that it also makes a (different) sound when you successfully interrupt your target's spell in time.
Happy interrupting :D
