Elkano's BuffBars
EBB provides groups of (mainly) statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants placed on their weapons.
For over 20 years, EBB has been a mainstay for both long-term and returning players (at least some) and reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.
Two-in-One Download
For Classic WoW, the addon uses its older 2.x code base, for Mainline WoW (Retail and Forever) it is now based on Blizzard's AuraContainer; all in the same download file.
2.x based on UnitAura
Version 2.x was a total recode, initially based on the Ace2 framework, later ported to Ace3, which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It has served well for ~19 years (since June '07) and made it possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.
Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames.
EBB v2 thus limits cancelling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring.
This will be coming in a later version.
3.x based on AuraContainer
This is once again a complete artisanal rewrite, which became necessary due to Blizzard making auras secret in combat. This also gave me the push to include some features I already wanted but never included before. And you can cancel buffs in combat again.
Layouts can now be shared between groups, support multi-line/-column alignments, and give you way more options than before. But it can also just look the same as it used to.
What did suffer from the change of underlying technology are some of the filter options, as Blizzard has intentionally broken those.
And I haven't added localization to v3, yet. So most texts are in English besides a few strings reused from the game client.
Settings
The settings can be accessed via chat (/ebb), LDB icon, or simply via the game settings.

Posted Nov 27, 20101 in the middle of my screen for a power auras-esque feel.
1 in the top right corner for the default buff bar type feel.
however, the middle of my screen bars are set to "Disable mouse" yet they are still right-clickable. its kinda annoying... especially since the power aura type bars are things like trinket procs and temp debuffs, and I accidently keep removing them from myself when i right click the near middle of my screen to move.

Posted Nov 24, 2010If I select hide for text topleft, then it also hides both the bottom text, regardless wether i have them set to show something or not.
Am I missing a setting somethere? or is this not supposed to happen?

Posted Nov 24, 2010How are you trying to layout the strings that you would use the bottom but not the top strings?

Posted Nov 24, 2010I've seen this option in other addons such as Pitbull 4 and Grid, and it would be AMAZING to have this on EBB. It sounds simple, but I have no idea how hard that is.
Thanks for this great addon!

Posted Nov 24, 2010I just saw the latest update. Right click canceling OUT OF COMBAT, so I see that is the path he has chosen and that he has no interest in the quality of his addon. Canceling buffs in combat is essential. Example: Paladin healers using divine plea to regain SOME mana and then canceling it when the action picks up again, since the -50% healing done debuff is too heavy and just wastes more mana than you regain. Another example is bubbling to avoid death, but then needing to cancel the bubble to remove the -50% damage done debuff which completely cripples your DPS. There are loads of other examples for other classes.
Cancelling buffs in combat IS a required feature of ANY bar addon, whether YOU realize it or not, and there are plenty of other bar addons. So off I go, to the plethora of other addons that actually updated to secure aura frames.
Thanks anyway Elkano, it was a superb addon while it lasted. Sad to see it die like this since using it breaks an essential part of raiding gameplay (cancelling auras in combat). Take care.

Posted Nov 25, 2010And its not about the case of canceling buffs, its about the form you use to you order him to do something.
He commented on the topics you linked before and said it won't be possible to implement right-clicking ic while keeping filtering and sorting won't work with what is posted in those threats.
