Cartographer
CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!
DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!
There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.
Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.
- Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
- Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
- Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
- Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
- Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
- Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
- Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
- Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
- Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Posted Nov 25, 2007EDIT: Turns out my ACE2 version of ARENAMASTER was causing all the problems. Everything is back to normal for me.
This worked for me too, but now I can't get Cartographer_Mining to work because it says "Dependency Missing" =\

For those having trouble getting Cartographer to work, try this:
1) Rename Cartographer directory to "aaCartographer"
2) Rename "Cartographer.toc" to "aaCartographer.toc"
3) Add "aa" prefix to any Cartographer files in the WTF directory
Works for me :-)

Posted Nov 26, 2007For Cartographer_Mining to work your Cartographer MUST be named Cartographer NOT aaCartographer.
This is why that 'trick' is a really bad idea. All 3rd party Cartographer modules require that Cartographer be named Cartographer.

Posted Nov 25, 2007I switched from using Gatherer and Atlas to this mod and it seems great but I have a few questions.
Can I transfer my old records from gatherer on the locations of the mines and herbs I've collected?
And second is this an error because when I mine something it dosent mark it on the map.

Posted Nov 26, 2007You need Cartographer_Mining from http://files.wowace.com/Cartographer_Mining/Cartographer_Mining.zip to be able to record the locations of mining nodes. You can import your old data with http://files.wowace.com/Cartographer_Import/Cartographer_Import.zip by following its directions or you can use http://files.wowace.com/Cartographer_Data/Cartographer_Data.zip for a prebuilt database of mining/herb and other locations copied from wowhead (I think).

If thats the error you're getting then grab a new copy from http://files.wowace.com/Cartographer/Cartographer.zip somebody else made a change that had a small error in it but it should be fixed now.

Posted Nov 25, 2007Ok could you try http://files.wowace.com/Cartographer/Cartographer.zip again, I just uploaded a new version with a change in it to try and fix that Dewdrop-2.0 not found error but since I haven't been able to reproduce it or track down its exact cause I don't know if the change will fix it or not.

Posted Nov 24, 2007i was NOT able to get cartographer since the new wow patch. I tried deleting and reinstalling many many times and nothing helped.
i didnt know what i was doing wrong and couldnt find a solution.
Niightblade's comment about putting an "aa" in front helped.
idk why but why question it if it did the job right?

First things first, everything else appears to be in working order besides this one small insight.

I have looked within the folder libs [[ C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Cartographer\libs ]] and the requested files named are there, at least the folders are.
How do I go about remedying this situation? I very much enjoy this addon and would like to continue using it.
