Cartographer
CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!
DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!
There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.
Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.
- Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
- Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
- Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
- Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
- Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
- Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
- Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
- Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
- Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Posted Nov 25, 2007I have the exact same problem and it is very annoying. Plus, it pops up over and over so that you cannot click a not you have anywher on the map.

If cartographer isn't showing up but says its turned on in your character select addon menu, do this.

Posted Nov 24, 2007Thats a really bad 'trick' since it doesn't really do anything but make it load earlyer which shouldn't have any effect unless something is very weird with your other addons. If Cartographer wasn't working before you did that you probably don't have 'show lua errors' enabled in your interface options and were getting an error preventing it from working.

and Dewdrop is in the cartographer folder, wtf is the problem!?

Posted Nov 24, 2007i cant seem to get the map to become full screen on my wide screen monitor, is there any way to make the map return to its original full screen mode that it normally is in without turning off all the other cartographer functions?

Posted Nov 23, 2007For those having trouble getting Cartographer to work, try this:
1) Rename Cartographer directory to "aaCartographer"
2) Rename "Cartographer.toc" to "aaCartographer.toc"
3) Add "aa" prefix to any Cartographer files in the WTF directory
Works for me :-)

Posted Nov 22, 2007I have tried a couple things, deleted all cartographer stuff, reinstalling the newest version (doesn't work),
I have pulled the files out of the cartographer file and put them in addons(doesn't work) I installed ace2, still not working.
I see cartographer on my addons list, but it doesn't show up on my map when i open it. Don't know what to do, and it seems like there is a handful of people posted below with the same problem

Posted Nov 22, 2007It could be you have other addons conflicting with cartographer. I have the new version and it works fine. Try taking out other addons and adding them back on, one at a time once cartographer is installed. That should help in eliminating addons that are conflicting. Good Luck :)
