Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

Getting an error on mine and the fiancees computer having to do with adding notes. we set a note on either of our games and an error pops up then we click close on it and we have to logout to get the buggy add note window off the screen.

WOW, what a wonderful enhancement. Do you intend to create addon extensions specifically for farming items such as gold and herbs? Enjoy the small donation.. Maybe more comming..Thx again.

Yes.

Go to your interface -> addons -> cartographer and fiddle the unexplored color/opacity until you find a combination that works for you.

Those yellow circles are actually part of the original WoW map.
The addon "MoveAnything" tells me their names are "AzerothButton" and "OutlandButton", and IIRC they're used when you completely zoom out in the original WoW map to allow users to switch planets.

For now, I've simply added the two buttons to MoveAnything, and had the addon hide them.
And I haven't seen them since (~1 month now).

Does get the same Yellow rings ... think it's a other addon... can't click in the Yellow place, hope sone 1 know how to get it turned off

Anyone else notice yellow rings show up sometimes on the map? And inside these rings you cannot click or add waypoints?

Any way to fix that?

I am having a problem with this AddOn, after i play for a minute maybe 2, the game crashes. If I deactivate it, I can play normally.

I've had zero problems with Cartographer 3 - LOVE this addon. I'm getting a LUA error though when I try to add notes - anybody else having this issue?

I really, really had high hopes on this new version getting rid of the old out of memory crash problem which occurs after some playing time, especially flying over memory intensive zones (Dragonblight). But after installing and enabling this addon, the crash started to show up again. Disabled. :(

From my post in the Catrographer thread...

Cartographer is great. In my opinion, Cartographer 3.0 is much nicer. It would be even nicer if it included instance maps like it used to.

I'm glad you decided not to support WoWMatrix. When I read what it was they were actually doing, pirating software, I instantly deleted my Interface and WTF folders and downloaded the proper versions. Had I known all along that was how they operated, I never would've used WoWMatrix in the first place. What with the Blizzard policy change throwing mod makers in a ruckus and then with the WoWMatrix thing, I'm hoping that everything turns out okay. I'm very glad that you and other mod authors are continuing to post updates and such for the public, and also thankful to Curse and WowInterface for doing such a great job hosting the mods. Together all of you make the AddOn community a very awesome project, and you enhance the game 1,000 fold. Keep up the great work!

I don't think a single thing that curse has said about wow matrix is even a little bit true. WoWMatrix is not 'pirating' anything, that's just FUD. It's also not modifying addons. That's also FUD. Personally, I avoid curse as much as possible and refuse to download their horrible horrible wowmatrix-like client which is a steaming pile of excrement.

WoWMatrix isn't "pirating" anything. They were basically cutting Curse and WoWInterface out of their advertising revenue by giving everyone direct link access to addon files and bypassing the advertising "impressions"..

They were no more a "pirate" than anyone who used their convenient (and FUNCTIONAL) updater. - Everyone should curse Curse for not keeping their updater in working order in the first place!!!
