Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

Wowmatrix is crap. If anything there should be a lawsuit against them. (I personally hate all the lawsuits, but I feel this one is viable.)

Ckknight,

Can you please get in touch with WoWMatrix so as to enable their client to work with your add-on?

I like your add-on a lot. However, my aim playing WoW isn't about spending hours downloading add-ons, but hours playing it.

Thus - unless it can be included in my regular WoWmatrix update run, I will stop using it and encourage everyone doing same.

Are you serious? This guy freely volunteers his time to make a mod that is awesome enough to get downloaded THOUSANDS OF TIMES A DAY, and you think he's going to care that you, some random internet schmuck, are going to stop using the mod if he doesn't meet your demands? Oh no, what is he going to do without you?!

If you honestly believe the bullshit Curse are feeding you about WoWMatrix you're a bigger idiot than the chap above you. Curse stopped WoWMatrix in order to enable their premium subscription crap to work better - Curse are charging you to access the work of other people just because they host it otherwise they'll cap your download speed and plaster you with ads.

WoWMatrix hosting on the other hand does not - it has a small ad *and* it has a link to the projects page where the author can freely add a donate button. It also allows full speed downloads without paying a "subscription".

Feel free to put me down about my views but let me tell you - I use WoWMatrix and I frequently donate to AddOn developers that I respect and like the AddOns of so your theory is flawed sir.

when people make the argument that authors need to allow wowmatrix be able to update the addon to save time managing addons is stupid. they always say " i would rather spend hours playing the game, then spending hours downloading the addons." who in the hell takes that long. with the about 20 addons i use, i can update them all on curse manually in under 10 min. so stop using that lame excuse and come up with something better. i actually have an idea, just download the free curse client.

Hey, Nice work with this addon, like it a lot, just a few thing to be considered, frames drop to almost nothing for the first minute or so after logging into WoW as cart loads which canbe annoying. Also, any chance of developing this so that the flight points show up? or even developing it to a point where it shows flight points that havent been selected yet? Nice work so far xD

sadly since the deadly inception of 3.1 cart 3.0 was the cause of many many memory crashes in wow.... i took me over 18 hours of painstakingly going through an "burn" testing each of my addons seperatly... cataloging each crash and seeing if it was repeatable given the circumstances... through it all i discovered that cart 3.0 combined with sexymap and bartender caused a mem recal of sectors not authorized to access and enevitably would cause the cause....
even more sadly cart 3.0 by itself was causing my crashes by itself just moving in any graphic instensive cituation (with video turned to complete minimum in game with no sound and running full screen windowed mode)

This addon still needs alot of work. I still prefer the old Cartographer. This one lags like a motha. Needs customization work if you ask me.

Hi,

I really like this a like this add-on. The coordinate and way point parts are great. I've been having trouble with the "notes" part in the past I could add notes but, could never delete or edit them. Now I can't add notes at all and when I turn notes on I get a big yellow circle that I can't right click in to set a way point. Hope you continue to develop this add-on. The cords. and way points are nice and notes are nice for marking spots I return to a lot.

I love how you can separate the cart 3 map from the regular World Map, and then the cart 3 map. It works great with my questhelper and other addons.

If you could add the Ulduar maps (which you are probably running through right now) that would be great!

Any chance on making the Map choosing menu more user friendly? For example, when picking an Instance, it's way too large to show everything. Also, the Ulduar maps are missing from this menu.

Really love this map addon. Please keep working on it! :)

Could you make it so when you put your mouse over a Battleground map or Instance map it doesnt show your quest objectives outside the Battleground or Instance Maps? Its really anoyying.

In my opinion 3 is the better overall mod. I think, however, it uses more memory - though not by too much. It just would seem comparatively more, because it's fewer mods doing more options at once. I suggest diong what I did; Download both, try each out on the same character, and see for yourself which is better for you.

Why are you worrying about memory? Do you only have 512 MiB of RAM or so? You should be far more worried about CPU usage, or even more than that: frames per second.
