This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

i have all of the sub folders in the overarching"cartographer" folder, should i put each individual addon into the addons folder separately?

i know im asking alot, but its definitely appreciated

i figured out, that by puting each of the sub folders of the dowload on this page induvidualy into the addons folder, then, downloading

independantly, and putting the "cartographer" folder into the addons folder independantly, that this suit will work., the issue i belive is that there is no "base" cartographer included, only additional addons for the cartographer addon.

I'm using a Mac and I can't seem to be able to download this with Safari or Firefox because neither web browsers recognize the "psyn" protocol.

Help!

Hi, I'm having a problem with the ability to set right click and set way points, or right click to "zoom out". I was able to do this until the wrath versions started appearing. I've removed everything from my addon directory except the Cartographer directories from the v2.3.6a version to ensure it isn't another addon causing this problem, and the problem still exists. Any thoughts?

I see a couple of posts here about issues with getting this working with a MAC. I also see the standard response of how to install it (which I did) and I am still not able to get it to show up in my addons. This works fine on my windows computers. I am also getting the same results with the gatherer addon BUT qhelper works fine.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I didn't install WOW from CD but via the download client.

Please investigate. Thanks!

i use a mac, and I put cartographer in this location" Mac HD>Apps.>WoW>INterfae>AddOns>Cartographer-r2290", but when i start wow, and look at my addons in the char. selection menu, there is no Cartographer option at all, if there is something im doing wrong, please tell me,
p.s. I have unzipped it by using the open option, and i use questhelper, and mapster already

Hi, I have a problem with the instances notes. I can't see them! I can see only Kazzak in Hellfire Peninsula 'cause the others instance are simply maps without notes of the bosses and their loot. How can I do?

Hi, i using Cartographer in German language game lokation an i have the follow error message:

Error occured in: Global
Count: 1
Message: ..\AddOns\Cartographer_Notes\Notes.lua line 4017:
Trying to iterate through notes in an unknown zone: "Die gefrorene See"

it is always at the same point when I fly from Drachenöde to Heulender Fjord

It's more a problem with unzippers on mac. You are supposed to put all folders inside the zip directly into your addon folder, not in a subfolder. So if your paths are [...]/Interface/Addons/Cartographer and [...]/Interface/Addons/Cartographer_<modulename> it should work as expected :D.

Who is "he"? why are you interested in 2.4.3 while we are well into 3+?

The addon is currently in beta and does have a few bugs but overall it is very usable. I use it myself all the time :D. We are working on bugfixes and such but please be patient. Thank you!

Since we developers are not oracles or otherwise clairvoyant, please let us know what isn't working. Maybe you can fix it by changing the settings for color and opacity a bit?
