This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

I believe it is. Unless Cart Complete has been updated, this one seems dead. Sorry to see it go. Was a decent addon.

And what alternatives add-ons are there? There's Cartographer 3.0, but that's going in a direction I don't like (trying to make something like Google Maps in-game).

And to answer my own question: Mapster (horrible name) is an excellent world map replacement. Very slim and uses the standard Addons menu for configuration. Supports world map foglight toggling, foglight colour adjustment, map resizing/alpha/relocation, per-profile settings, and coordinate display. It's missing POI/Notes, but I'm sure there's another addon that does that. Instance maps are probably in another addon too.

Atlas was always the cartographer alternative before... I think the author of cart may have gone to another game :(

Hopefully someone will pick this up as I'm not too keen on Cart3 either

Anyone else get this error, or know what causes it? Ive used Cart for a long time now, and it was working fine until 3.08...I opened a ticket for this, but just wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts/ideas. Thanks in advance!

How can I reset Cart...for some reason my map seems to be half off my screen and I can't click and drag it as it's transparent and just clicks through it...please help!!!!!!

Amazing addon, one of my must-haves. One thing though: any way to change to font the arrow uses? If not, would it be possible to add it. I use Morpheus and this is one of my only addons that doesn't conform.

Sure it does, just take all the folders out of the main Cartographer folder, then put them into the Addons folder. It took me a while to figure this out. =/

Im not a big fan of cart3, i like the 2.36 alot better cuz the maps in cart 3 are hard to get used to and just not as friendly, altho 2.36a is giving alot of errors, mostly to do with the notes part of it... looking forward to an update soon

I'm relatively new to WoW and brand new to Cartographer. I have to say I'm dissapointed with the missing profession info. There may be other mods for it but the idea of a single map mod that did everything was nice :) Will try one of the Gatherer mods for now.
Anyway, my only real complaint is that I can't find any concise help. Is there a home page or anything that contains any sort of help file? An in game command for help? Anything?
TIA and props to the folks that put thier time & effort into mods like these.
