ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
which means that somehow youve downloaded the no-lib variant instead of the full one, and if you have the no-lib variant then you must download the libraries serparately (which you have now done)
try copying LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0 from the optdeps line to the x-embeds line, eg;
the ## X-Embeds: Ace3, AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets, LibPeriodicTable-3.1, LibSharedMedia-3.0, LibDataBroker-1.1, LibDialog-1.0, LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0
actually that wont help you at all, ill need to do it and upload it
I moved it as follows (and saved) and deleted all the libs and the two ace addons then tried to come up again and again get an error on loading and my bag is only the single bag. BTW it quit Wow and restarted after doing the before mentioned deletes and save.
## OptionalDeps: Ace3, AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets, LibPeriodicTable-3.1, LibSharedMedia-3.0, LibDataBroker-1.1, LibDialog-1.0, Masque, BattlePetBreedID
## X-Embeds: Ace3, AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets, LibPeriodicTable-3.1, LibSharedMedia-3.0, LibDataBroker-1.1, LibDialog-1.0, LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0
Did I miss something or I have broken LUA stored variables? Previous version when I did click "Cleanup" button my "Crafting Reagents" did move into bank "Reagents tab" when I have open bags and bank. In latest version reagents stay in my bags. I must go on bank tab enable "bags changer" and then from reagent bag menu I must pick store reagents to achieve same functionality as in previous version. In previous version that choice in reagent bag menu was toggle action now is immediate execute of store reagents.
TIA
right click on the restack icon to bring up the restack menu
restack is a work in progress, there will be more options next release (and fixes)
Tooltip counts are not showing up for formulas, patterns, plans, recipes, and schematics when they're an auction, in the mail, or in the guild bank. However, they will show up in the regular bank or if I put the item in my bag. And I've verified that the numbers are accurate and update as they're moved around. I took a recipe out of my guild bank, put it in my bag. The tooltip showed up as one in my bag. I listed it as an auction, couldn't see the count, and got another one out of the guild bank. In my bag, the count updated with 1 auction and 1 in my bag (as well as wherever else others are stored, mail, bank, other toons, etc.). Put it back in the guild bank, and the numbers are gone. Put it in the regular bank, and numbers are still there and updated. Hopefully this is information is detailed enough.
Thanks for identifying the problem that quickly. I wish I could donate gold for all your hard work.
In the newest release, when mousing over items in quest and profession windows, I do not get the item counts anymore. I believe this was working in previous versions before 6.2. The problem persists when loading the old version using the "load out of date addons" option, so it seems to be something related to the patch that broke this functionality.
it looks like blizzard broke something as the hyperlink returned from the tooltip:GetItem() API is complete garbage
Using today's version and guild bank 5th tab still not displaying at all. Have disabled gb on all toons, to default till fixed.
TYVM - I downloaded LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0 and it started working.
But now I am curious - I do not recall deciding on a lib or no-lib version. What are the differences? Why would I prefer one over the other?
As always, thank you so much for an addon I really adore!
Just as a FYI, I was not using the "no-lib" version. Actually, if you download the zip file for version 3.05.02 (the regular version, not the "no lib" version), there is no directory for LibItemUpgradeInfo in the "libs" directory. Can you confirm that the zip file is being created properly to include LibItemUpgradeInfo?
Did you originally update it with the game running?
Wow registers "updates" to existing addons just fine with a reloadui, but it needs to restart to pick up completely new addons. Even though it's kind of packed with Arkinventory, my guess is the library stuff was "new" and thus not picked up (when I restarted my wow client completely Ark magically started working again)
no one should ever update mods with wow running, thats just asking for problems to happen
its under ArkInventory\Externals\curse\git\LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0
if you use the curse client theres an option in there to grab the no lib versions instead of the full download
the no-lib versions are just lighter on disk space, you download the libraries you need and install them as seperate mods that way you only ever have one copy of them but you have to keep it up to date (the curse client should alert you for any updates)
Well, I suppose I'll just use 3.05.00 for now and wait for someone to provide enough information and/or convince you otherwise that there might be something not working properly. But, I will say that I did completely delete all arkinventory directories, download 3.05.02 zip (with libs), extract ...and got those errors. I did the same process with 3.05.00 and got no errors. I don't know how to test further so I'll leave it there.
I do appreciate this addon though -- it's right up there with Master Plan in my opinion!
Version 3.05.02 (and version 3.05.01 beta 3) are non-functional for me. I opened a ticket at https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/717 which includes a screenshot of the BugSack.
if youre using the no-lib version youll need to download LibItemUpgradeInfo-1.0 as i started using that library
well its working perfectly fine with the guild bank for me so youll need to specificy what the actual error is
