ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I'm have the same issue. Tried copying and overwriting Saved Variables from a backup file several times and it doesn't work.

I have the same issue... Still trying to figure this one out.
If you have problems with sorting your bags, bank, void storage and so on:
1. Go to Config >> Controls.
2. On every tab change the dropdown menus Style, Category Set, and Layout to the names you'd been using before patch 7.0.
3. The dropdown menus Style, Category Set, and Layout MUST NOT contain the word Default. If it does, assigning categories to items will not work.
First of all i have to say ist great to see your effort on patchday. Thanks a lot!

Just like to say thanks, 3.06.09 is working for me now...finally opens up into one bag. Thanks for having this working on patch day!
Can I get a confirmation that I have to set up AI completely new again? or is there a possibility I can restore my profiles? Great job btw. <3 my only must have addon since bc(?) wotlk(?) can't remember too long ago :D
I had the issues where ArkInventory wouldn't show in my addons and /ai config wouldn't work for me even after installing the update from Curse.com. In looking at the error logs it appeared to be looking for an Ace3 program. I installed the "Ace3" addon from curse and ArkInventory showed up for me and works. Now all of my configurations are gone, but I can fix that I hope. Before I did this, i tried downloading the file from http://www.wowace.com/ website but that didn't work either. I was so sad at loosing my Arkinvetory, but it looks to be working.
It seems like even though all of my characters use the same profile (the Default one), changes I make to the Blueprint selections on one character aren't saved to that profile, so each character I'm logging into I have to re-select the Default Style, Layout, and Category Set blueprints for every single bag/bank/etc location in order to restore my 'Default' appearance. Is this working as intended?
this is the error im getting when i try to open up bags and all i get is bliz defoult bags

Try downloading it from wowinterface instead. It has the latest version now (3.06.08). There seems to be something wrong with curse's packaging.

^^^ THIS!
Thank you sooo freaking much, I love you right now! :D
Update!
The Curse server download was the problem, the download from http://www.wowinterface.com/ worked for me. Now off to check for any other problems. Thanks!

Truly one of the best (and necessary) addons out there! But with the advent of Legion's patch - even though I deleted and did fresh install (trouble shooting measure) - ArkInventory **does not load**. Thanks for your help.
I turned off all other addons and upon entering the game got this error:

should be fixed in .09

translation text is wrong, it is currently "Открывать сумку %1$s, когда вы %3$s"
it should be a translation of "Open the %1$s %2$s when you", where 1 is replaced with "ArkInventory" and 2 is replaced with the russian word for "Bag", the options it refers to are "when opening the bank", "when visiting a merchant", etc
i'll clear them for now (the auto close translation is the same)
Thank you! You and your addon are truly awesome and beatiful <3

have this issue with latest update on both types of servers
1) Open your bag
2) Click on Menu then click "Config"
3) Click on Profiles and select an existing profile in the right navigation (ie: Default, Class, ServerName, Character Name)
4) Click on Controls
5) Select the Bag/Bank/Whichever Tab
6) Under BluePrint: There "Style", "Layout" and "Category Set"
a) Select [1002] Default - Bag For each of those
7) Click Close
8) type /Reload or /Reload UI (Essentially, reload your UI)
Viola! your Arkinventory bag is back to pre-patch settings.
Wrong. Doesnt work for everyone
im hoping the issue most of you are having is due to being on a server that isnt in a cross realm cluster, the code to work that out was aborting so ive changed that to just spit out a warning and continue on instead, hopefully that will resolve it
