ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
the only file you need to transfer the config for AI is ...\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\youraccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
just make sure you only copy it while the game is shut down, and obviously it will override any setting you had on the other machine
once its on the other machine, in the same location, start wow and after logging in change to the correct profile. youll probably want to click on the change character icon and purge the data for each toon that was on the other account
hi there,
I am not sure why is my partner's arkinventory doesn't auto sell junk. I even uncheck the 'Test' mode for him.
Hope you can help me.
Thanks
rarity level of the items? are they actually poor items? assigned to the junk category? does the junk category have the gold coins icon next to it?
might be better to leave test mode on as it should output what would be sold
I was using Bagnon for forever until they decided not to fix the fact that the reagent bag items stopped stacking. They acknowledged that it was an issue months ago, but still haven't done anything about it. They keep fixing tiny insignificant things instead of this big real issue. I grew tired of waiting and finally uninstalled it. Trying this out and so far, its pretty darn good! One thing I would like to know is, can you scale the windows and set columns and rows? I have large bags in my bank and they span past the top and bottom of the screen. I have to keep dragging it up and down from an edge. This would really be awesome. Thanks everyone!
windows and items can be scaled
rows, no. you set how many bars/groups you want displayed in each row and it works out the layout. it will add as many rows as it needs to.
columns, you can set a window width (number if items) which it spreads across the bars, and in the latest alpha you can now set min/max widths for each bar/group
the windows can also have a pixel height set and if they go over that the contents will become scrollable
Logged in to wow this morning and received this error message. I haven't seen this before now and nothing has changed at my end. Was fine yesterday.

thats a toybox item with no favourite icon object to set which is odd as its added to every object so it shouldnt be missing
could you try the latest alpha and let me know if it still happens?
if you have a mousewheel scroll it while over the menu and it will scroll, you dont have to move the window
I get a ludicrous amount of errors whenever viewing my bank about unknown bags, just spams endlessly until I close the bank window. Addon also seems to use a crazy amount of memory now, nearly as much as TSM at times.
go into the config and disable that warning. dont worry about how much memory it uses, your machine has plenty
Just an FYI in case anybody else runs across this problem. ArkInventory was throwing all kinds of errors and that was because another addon named Baud Bag was installed. They don't play well together.
Been using this addon for years, totally love it... one stage even wrote like a 200 rules to keep things neat...... then a long time ago, it slowed my game down so much it was a nightmare to open my bags,...... i had no choice but to delete every rule i had ever written, and use the basic edit mode with built in categories... or move to using the slow custom sorts with right clicking even new item.
Why did the rules have to slow everything down...... (still never went back to writing them again and i had some nice ones laid out for cooking levels, Profession mats per level so you know what to keep what to sell, fishing gear, bait and fish)
Then in the last few months i have noticed even the stock standard refresh is slowing everything down when collecting for the mail box, moving items to and from the bank the refresh rate is so slow. selling multiple items to the vendor... guess what.. refresh rate is slow.... seams this addon has gotten very bloated.... very sad... hope the is an improvement on resources and speed...... or at least add more stock standard things like
1. Champion Equipment
2. Pet bandages and charms and any other pet item to the pet list
3. Reputation Insignias
4. Follower traits (yes for Garrisons)
5. Darkmoon fair Items
6. Keys
But to name a few
So please what has happened to this wonderful addon that makes it slow and cumbersome now.
blizzard implemented a script timeout value. any code that runs for more than about 250ms per frame update gets terminated, in combat its about 100ms
ai used to lock up the game for several seconds to do the initial calculations it needed to do, and just under a second for a full bag refresh, now it cant or it the game will kill it
to get around that i have to make sure the code exits if its getting near that timeout value, and then starts up again after the next frame update, thus the "laggy" aspect now.
ok, I can accept the laggy part of it... but what a bout the rest i Wrote? Rules... standard slots of r the above mentions goodies in the bags etc.
Would love a way to sort a specific item.
Example:
I have an item with speed and an item without speed. If I assign it to a category, all instances of that item are assigned to that category.
can deposit but cannot withdraw, no LUA errors.
im using the latest version, tried relog/reloadui
So I've been using the mount function, for this mod, and I love it. One button for the various types of mounts depending where you are. Been looking for something like this for a long while. I do have a question about it though. I've found that if I'm in combat while mounted, the key bind won't dismount me when I press it, I've had to press the button in the game or attack the mob to diss mount.
Is this something I can change, or do I just have to live with manually dismounting in combat?
its always done that but i havent really looked into it yet. its most likely going to come down to the dismount part being in lua and while its run from a macro that lua code is not secure so it probably wont run in combat
actually i can update the macro part (which is secure) so if you are in combat, mounted and not flying it will dismount you, will be in the next release
Search bar is lacking in my opinion. I should be able to put tt("back") in there or even just back to search for cloaks. Don't know why google didn't yield any relevant result on this problem by the way, maybe I just didn't find the option and I'm retarded ?
