ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

Hello,
Thank you for the update, the search by iem location is perfect.
There is an option to move new item into the category new items but I need to adjust that to only show new items looted in raid for example, or only violet items.
There is an other issue with this option, If I disconnect then reconnect, the item is not tagged as a new item.
I'm looking for a rules that show me all the new items, is it possible to do that (something like "age > 3600sec")
Thanks a lot that fixed my issue :)
Hi,
After the newest update of ArkInventory it seems to be messing with another addon I am using -> Opie

download r706-alpha or higher, it was fixed in there
Hello;
I stopped using Bagnon to use Arkinventory, I like rules and sorting but I have a problem.
Inbag search and allchar search do not work properly. If I search for an item by its type, I have no results.
For example, if I search for "hand" in WoW's default interface, all elements that are not a hand or have the word hand in the description are faded. Same result with Bagnon.
But in ArkInventory if I write "hand" ALL elements are faded, same thing if I write "hand". cf image
Is this a bug or is it the normal function of the addon? Changing equipment without this function is really difficult.
In reply to Arkayenro:
OK. and is it possible for you (and easy to do) to change this ? Because the original wow search bar do it so why not the one you made ?
the blizzard search bar only works for active slots - it sets a flag on the backend bag/slot, which would be fine if AI didnt allow for offline mode, so my search code has to use its own data to be able to work everywhere.
i've already updated the code to search through tooltip, equip location, itemtype, itemsubstype, and rarity data as well. it'll suck up a lot more memory but seems to work ok
it'll get upload as an alpha at some point in the next couple of days and will be in the next release

With the newest update 3.07.41 if i shift click things in my bag to link it in chat it will post it twice. I have tried turning off all other addons and it still does it. Is it just me or are others having this issue too?
Help!
Coming back to WoW after years away and to Ark Inventory as well. There are four things I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do anymore:
1) Rules cannot be enabled, the enabled check just will not turn on.You have to create rules in a category set that is not 9999.2) Auto sorting Does not work at all. This can be set at Settings > Styles / Layouts > [Current "Set"] > Sorting > When: Instantly3) can no longer sort by iLvl
4) cannot hide empty bag slots
EDIT: this seems partially fixed by changing the "Stack Limit" to not 0.Settings > Styles / Layouts > [Current "Set"] > Items > Empty Slots > Stack Limit > 1
These are driving me mad! Did Ark just stop being able to do these things?

Hi
Sorry about this but I seem to be having an issue with setting this up.
On 1 character when I open this up it only shows one bag other characters show all bags. When I open up edit mode it shows all bags but no matter what I change round once I close edit mode it goes back to showing only 1 bag again. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the addon but its still the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
edit mode shows everything, including empty bars
do your bars have items in them in edit mode? if not and you still want to see them youll need to enable show empty bars
if they do have items then the category or rule is most likely set to hidden so click on the bar number, go down to an assigned category and see if hide is ticked or not
