ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

Sorry where's the alpha download?
on the files tab, might not have been approved by curse when you looked? should be there now though.

In reply to Arkayenro:
Ahh, had to click the "All Files" button to see the alpha builds. That seems to have fixed the issues!
Thanks.
In reply to Arkayenro:
Can confirm I had the same issue with Release version in Woltk, and Alpha 2 got it fixed. Thanks a lot for a quick update!
In reply to Earlgreyd:
installing 31010.02 (alpha2) does not work for me :(

Is there any way I can have ArkInventory auto refresh the window ?
I've seen stuff on reddit about an Update Timers tab in the general tab of the config panel but it doesn't seem to be there anymore ?
Under Settings > Designs (Styles / Layouts) > Window > Style > Sorting set it to "Instantly" rather than "On Window Open." But be warned, when I set it to this it happens even as you're selling stuff to Vendors and makes it super obnoxious when things start moving around on you while you're clicking them. I have On Window Open and just tab B B to refresh when I need it. You can also always hit the "Refresh" icon on the top of the window, or right click that same button for more options, including Clear Category Cache.
In reply to TylerR909:
Hello, thanks for reply, I actually missed it, hence the late response...
Yes I actually tried setting sorting on "Instantly".
But the original idea was to try fix the problem with ArkInventory going non-interactive whenever I click (right or left button),
on the bag window anywhere else but on an item or on one of the windows top right button.
What I mean is that if I move the window or even just click in between two items,
I then cannot interact with items anymore until I refresh or close and reopen the bag window.
Even the hovering tooltip goes away when this happen.
Using the refresh button restore the interactivity of the items in the window,
so I was hopping that I could fix the problem with auto refreshing in the way the refresh button does it.
Unfortunately setting the sort on instantly doesn't fix the problem and it's indeed as you say, not very convenient to use.
How do I configure the size of the Bank window separate from the bags window? By default, the bank window is too tall and goes off the bottom of the screen, I want to make it wider so it fits, but when I try to modify bar 1 in the bank window, the changes are applied to the bag window as well, and I don't want that.
In reply to TheAngryIntern:
Here's how I solved that problem:
Create another profile and name it "bank". In your main profile you will go to profiles and then the controls tab and there you will use you new bank profile as style & layout. You can then modify your Bank profile to your likings in the config menu and all settings stay seperate from the bags in your main profile.
Hello, I've set up a bag to hold all junk, but it also picks up white items that are needed to trade in for a battle pet in this case. How do I make the "junk bag" only collect grey junk items?
P.S.: Is there no ArkInventory Discord to ask questions? The addons usage is rather complicated, so I'd love to have someone to talk about some of the things.
sorry, only github at the moment, but feel free to post it there (its easier for me to manage that than this)
hello there,
i used to have Pet Battle enemy skills on Display, as well as a diffrent UI when changing my BattlePets. its gone, and i was like that all came from ArkInventory?
not arkinventory, i dont change the battlepet ui. possibly rematch?
In reply to Arkayenro:
thanks for the reply. im going to check that.
In reply to Arkayenro:
im so sorry i was bothering you with it, it was PetTracker being disabled.
I picked up a 26 slot reagent bag, when i did that there was a banner that popped up saying "you have obtained a reagent bag, open bags" that banner is stuck it just won't go away unless I stop AI from loading at all, the moment I re active it its back, there is no lua error with it.
In reply to radsinwa:
This happened to me as well - I think that message is just from the Blizzard side of things, I saw it pop up (and not go away) in the beta as well, when I didn't have any addons turned on.
The fix for me was selling my old reagent bag after I equipped the new one. As long as I had a reagent bag not equipped, but had one my bags, the message was present.
In reply to ArashiPrime:
I had the same issue with Bagnon. When I disabled it, the pop-up went away, so I re-enabled Bagnon and it came back. Neither logging out or closing the client fixed it.
Seems there is some issue with having a reagent bag in your bags. I didn't play around with it to see if the reagent bag's location within my other bags had any effect, but as stated, selling the old bag got rid of the message.
