ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
if it was sold it would be in the buyback tab of any vendor
more than likely it just didnt display and a reload will bring it back
In reply to Arkayenro:
It was vendored, but got it back from:
https://eu.battle.net/support/en/restoration
So no harm done. ;)
In reply to Arkayenro:
Had the same problem. Using the full version (not-nonlib). I noticed random items getting flagged for the wrong categories, or rather, the items being sorted into the wrong slot. Figured this was a display issue, and a reload fixed it for that session, although the issue kept popping up from time time, same as icons/items not displaying when moving them around.
However, after visiting a vendor, several (+18) green BoE-items for disenchantment had been vendored, along with some gems, a sole flask of relentless assault, and a couple of stacks of fish oil . I think a couple of stacks of cloth also got vendored, but can't verify that. Buyback-tab only hold so many slots unfortunately, so haven't managed to get the majority of the items back.
Unfortunately I don't have any error message to attach, but there IS some kind of interference/bug with non-junk being vendored.
you should leave the max sell limit ticked so that in case something weird happens you can always get them all back as it only sells 12 at a time

I have half this problem. Nothing is being sold, but stuff I pick up or unequip isn't showing until I reload UI...
I'm unable to see my keystone in my inventory, searching shows it's not in my bags. When I turn off the addon, my keystone is indeed in my inventory.
In reply to Forestspirit13:
Can confirm this is happening to me as well. Also noticed some really weird stuff when I would sell things with things still appearing in my inventory, swapping icons, etc.
keystones are fixed in alpha 5
I have the same issues.
Here is a screenshot of when looting items they become invisible in the window.

i needed the categories. i wanted to check if its default category was Unknown or something else.
im pretty sure the issue is a combination of no longer caching the unknown category, and the new object caching, but i need some people to test alpha 3 (which has a lot of debug output that cannot be disabled)
In reply to Arkayenro:
Yeah sorry, I wanted to reply and I pressed Quote instead.
But I've reverted to the previous version now and it's fine.
Did you need more information about the problems?
In reply to mintik:
I am having the sam issue with new items only appearing as a glowing square, no item icon. I turned off all addons and it seems to be Details and Recount meters that cause the problem. When they are both off it doesn't happen.
There are a ton of issue son the last release... items don't even load properly on the inventory anymore, it displays a glowing empty frame instead of the item icon, and if you move something into the 'empty' slot where the new item is, it doesn't change the icons, current slow remains with a empty icon while previous slot remains with previous item icon, even though there is a different item there.
Also, when you sell something on a vendor with another addon, I used scrap for years without issue, it doesn't remove the item from the bag.
To solve both issues I need to reload my entire interface, Sir, I'm afraid this is extremely frustrating, please, either revert to the previous version until you're able to fix, or work on a solution as soon as possible.
Thank you
you think its frustrating. you do know that you can roll back to any version you like at any time?
if you looked at the issues page youd notice there are a lot of them. theres also several alpha version, so what exactly do you think ive been doing???
A couple issues with the last update. First, items I've assigned custom settings to are randomly resetting to their default. This happens when I've first logged into the game. Second, when I switch out gear, an item I've put on shows that it's still in my bags, and the other item doesn't show at all in my bags. An example is putting my 1h mace on and taking off my fishing pole. The mace is on my character, but still shows in my bags and the fishing pole is nowhere. A reload is required to fix. Love the addon, would be lost without it!
when you enter the game for the first time can you open the bag and turn on edit mode, then click on one of the items that should be in your custom category and let me know what categories does it have as assigned and default? then do a reload and let me know what the two categories are after that.
