ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it instead of the full variant and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full variant. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from here.
Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
Alpha / Beta Versions: Ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup so before installing any alpha/beta version please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variable file
Your saved variable file is normally located in ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose your configuration or it gets screwed up because of an alpha/beta version, it is always a possibility so you need to be prepared.
A simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

If you are having an issue then the first step is to disable all other mods and just test ArkInventory by itself
If the issue is still there then please check for an existing issue and lodge a new ticket if required.
If the issue is gone then re-enable your other mods one by one until the issue comes back, then report that to me as well as the other mods author
When posting a comment about an error please do not include the list of addons or really long traces, just the actual error message is fine. If I need more I'll ask you for it.
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use
See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details
Hello! Is there any way i can move the items to be sold from VENDOR addon to ArkInventory selling?
I checked both lua files & they are not similar, so im not sure if i can do it without actually having all these items in my inventory.
Also, would you add a KEYBIND for sell, so autosell can be replaced for players? There are many times i dont rly want the sell to go, so i dont want to use auto sell, but i would like to use the sell from ArkInventory.
arkinventory.will only auto sell items that are in categories with auto sell enabled, which by default is just the trash category.
if an item is in the trash category and you dont want it to be sold then you need to assign it to another category (possibly create one)
theres no keybind, it just does it when you talk to a vendor
the general auto sell options are in the config
I've been getting seconds of lag every time I loot something on retail. It goes away when I disable Arkinventory.
Any ideas?
In reply to Moreorlessmaybe:
I've been getting lag and I've also been seeing really long delays in updating the loot view in my bags - it's showing duplicates of items if I put them in the bank or not refreshing the view unless I reload - it will show outlines suggesting a new item in a slot but the slot is empty.
I'm not sure if it's related but it started around the same time as the loot lag.
In reply to fraerie_finetush:
I haven't experienced any of that.
which version of arkinventory, and which game client?
In reply to Arkayenro:
3.09.52, retail.
It feels like excessive cpu use, could it be related to item scanning for the database?
can you try the latest alpha? let me know if its any better or not.
whatever it is its not happening to everyone (or id get more reports) but it seems to be happening to enough people
is it only ever while looting? just that moving an item in the bag is (code wise) the same as getting a new item (looting), so it should happen to both parts.
unfortunately, its not happening to me so while there are a couple of places a lockup could potentially come from its hard to figure out which one it could be.
In reply to Arkayenro:
A bit of extra info to assist this case
I realized it is happening when i have a lot of items(Over 130 items) in my inventory(mainly reagents) & i loot anything.
Inventory is not opened however during the loot.
In reply to Arkayenro:
So far no issues with r1131-alpha.
Heya,
Would someone please share a rule for dominion pieces. I would like them be in there own area. Also is there a way to display the name of the section. I named them but they dont show. Thanks,
do you mean the shards or something else?
displaying bar names is in the config under the bars > names section of the design you have assigned
Where are items on other characters on account saved? Is it in SavedVariables folder? I need to reset it for my second account and I have just copy-pasted settings from my main WOW account
yes. you can go into the config > accounts and clear out data you dont need.
you can also import/export the entire profile now

edit - nope, never mind, looks like the file didnt get uploaded. will be fixed in a minute
I am trying to write a rule that will sort non-SL items for me. Some items aren’t marked as from SL, like the Seal Breaker Key it is marked as BFA for some reason by Blizzard. I made a custom category for it named SL and am trying to figure out if there is a way in a rule to test to see if an item is in that SL sub-category.
Is there a way to do that?
not really, if an item is in an enabled custom category it would go there, the rules arent checked for those as custom categories have a higher priority.
the expansion( ) rule function exists but as youve noticed, blizzard arent exactly accurate with their data.
you could potentially check the item id via a rule function of i.osd.id > 123456, where123456 is the item id of the first shadowlands item? might work, depends what youre trying to achieve.
i've added some new code to handle incorrect blizzard data returned from GetItemInfo.
i've fixed the data for this item, if you find any more let me know and i can fix those as well.
Has retail been abandoned? Game version 9.0.2, missed the 9.0.5 update and 9.1... just curious
